Ok, I will *finally* be able to order parts for my new gaming rig soon.

I'm hung up on a few tough decisions however.

Quad or Dual core e6600? I think I heard some time ago the quad-core might be dropping sometime soon, maybe as low as 266$, and truth to this? Yes, its the age-old PC builder's problem of to wait, or not to wait.

Whats the best HD choice for me?
Its taken me 5 years to fill up my 60gb HD that I have now, however I have only had broadband for about 4 months now (kudos to Sprint). And i've since downloaded a good 20gigs of stuff. I also have a collection of 10+ years worth of homebrewed D&D material that I REALLY REALLY dont want to lose, so a mirror RAID seems likely.

I also have a laptop, and was thinking I would like to partition the drive on my new desktop for shared files. That shouldn't be difficult to do.

So what im looking at is 2 500gb SATA drives, in a mirror raid (I forget, is that raid 0?), with maybe a 100gb partition for shared files so I can transfer stuff, like homework, videos, D&D material, etc, easily between my laptop and desktop.

Any other suggestions or configurations you guys would suggest?
