Got a call from the mortgage company today. The loan approval is complete, and everything has been turned over to the title company to set up closing!! I'm just a little excited to say the least. So, in about a week or so, I'll be taking a hiatus for a few days to move and get settled in. If all goes well, AT&T won't delay transferring my service. I can't live without internet!

We have a closing date! We go next Tuesday morning and sign all of the papers. Nothing like going in debt for the next 30 years to brighten your day! With any luck, we will be getting keys that same day.

Dude, I totally know what you mean. But at least you have a house for your 30 year investment.

Great! nice house with an actual BACKYARD!

I hate these new houses with 0 to -3 backyard. It's like your neighbor over the fence is literally 12 feet away from your back door.

I can't stand it. That and all the homeowner rules, but it looks like you didn't subscribe to one of those idiotic monarchistic-wannabe neighborhoods.

Oh GOD no! Something like that would only make me miserable. "you can't have christmas lights on your house.. only here and here, and don't think of flying your flag.. it's tacky.." eff_you!

We're in a nice neighborhood, quiet street. There is absolutely nothing I have to do to the house to move in. We are going to partition the finished basement to make a 4th BR, and next year we're ripping up the carpet in the LR. There's _REALLY_ nice hardwood under there that we're going to refinish.

That sounds like a terrific house. I just wish the house where i live (okay my parent's house) had a finished basement. Of course that would make me feel bad about littering plexi shaving all over it, but still it would be nice.

Why do people ever put carpet over hardwood? seems like a sin. But if you have little kids who spill stuff... could get messy if your floor is warping. But whatever, i'm sure you can seal it up and be happy and content with beautiful flooring.
