Attention all case modders and designers!
www.cpcff.co.uk (http://www.cpcff.co.uk/) are running a Build A SFF Case Contest which starts Monday 2nd July.
Sponsored by Aqua-PC's, AC Ryan and Custom PC Magazine with a nice selection of prizes.
For more details click HERE (http://www.cpcff.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14877). One of the judges is Crimson Sky himself so it must be good.
Hope to see a few familiar faces there http://www.gruntville.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Very tempting, though I don't really have the funds or the time at the moment even though i've got an idea on paper with measurements and everything :(

Hmmmmz, the contest is budgeted and it does last 6 weeks...and its the case ONLY no internals needed.
You could always submit the plans and build out of scrap materials. Just a thought tho.

Yea, just saw the £50 budget. Though I could put my current set up in there in the end with a matx mobo.
May give it a shot, will see monday.

I see that TGS will also be a judge.
Althought I don't have the funds (or skill) to do this, I'll definately check back on it. Seems like a cool idea.

Do you need to enter by the 2nd of july or can you enter towards the august deadline?
Just pricing up how much the frame and panels would cost.

No the contest starts on 2nd july. We would prefer your ideas to be PM'd in to prevent copying maybe the first 2 weeks or so. Then the contest finishes on 12th august.
However if you cant start until later that's fine just make sure your done by 12th august.

I have a question. I'm busy with a SFF mod at the moment.... look here (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?p=114874#post114874)
But i'm using a shuttle for the mod. Does that mean i can't enter?

Modding existing items is fine BUT they have to be non - computer related (so you dont go out and buy a SFF case and use that) and fit within the size limits set above. If you are unsure of the item check via PM.
I think that answers your question DAE_JA_VOO. A Shuttle SFF case is definitely computer related. ;)
Hmmm, I have about $80USD at the moment, maybe I'll start sketching something up and see if I can come up with anything worth spending my monies on.
We can enter into the competition at anytime before the deadline correct?

@ Dae_ja_voo
Yes I'm afraid you cant enter with your current SFF mod as you have already started which gives you an unfair advantage.
Nice build tho :)

@ Snowfire
Yes you can enter anytime before the deadline, although the earlier the better so you have more time. Just dont forget you have to pm your ideas in to enter.

Just emailed a couple of places to get a quote on the materials needed, the overall width should be something around:
308mm (L) * 268mm (W) * 243mm (H). I don't want to scan in the design at the moment as one, it's not complete and two, someone in the comp could see it. Though what I will say is think 'micro lian li'.

Looks like the materials are going to cost around £40 for the frame and panels, looks like it won't be painted but i've got ideas for another good finish.

Sent them in an email asking if delivery is to be included in the price of materials, does anyone here know by off chance?
