Starting my first case mod.... YAY! but have a question conserning the antec P180 sides. i know that they are three layer, going from alum-plastic-alum.. and was wondering if there would be any special way in cutting out the side?

I would say a jig saw or an angle grinder, you need to be carefull not to melt the plastic so use a lower speed.

there might be a issue if you can see the 3layers from an angle after the cut is set and done. a simple solution might be U-channel.

i have a p180 with a window.... depending on how you wanna do it there are a couple ways...

the way i did mine...i planned out the window on the back side then i cut it out only as deep as the plastic after drilling the holes for mounting it

it was a real pain....lemme find the post i made before about how to

edit:
heres my post on this subject from before

I just picked up a spare side panel for my p180b on Karma so that I can cut a window, and if I butcher it, or the noise gets too much to handle, I've got a replacement. It was only $19.95 from Antec, so I figured why not?

I've got the panel all masked, and ready to transfer my window design, so hopefully I can get to it this week and get er cut up. :)

b4i7: I would also like to see a pic of how it turned out!

I use some stuff like this on a house we are doing we use a router set just deep enough to cut the metal and the plastic but not the next layer of metal. You could do that from the inside then cut the window on the outside leaving just a small fin of metal around the edges for a good mounting location.
