I cut a rectangular hole on the top of the case I'm working on with the intention to cover the edges with window trim. I went out and got some chrome colored auto window trim and it looks great but I can't seem to figure out how to correctly measure for and install the trim without creating large gaps between the mitered corners.
Anyone know have any tips or a link to a guide that might help me out?

does it come in a roll or already molded for a certin size window? if its just a roll i would say just start fitting it, with out cutting it, then make it fit snug all over and once you reach the other end (or the start) then cut it there. when you reach where you started then leave maybe 1/4" or less and try to fit it in. here is a picture i hope it helps.
Black is the window and Blue is the silver trim.

It's in a roll. The rectangle I cut out has hard 90 degree (roughly) angles. I tried wrapping it around the corners before but the angle seems to sharp. =\

well you could cut it on a 45 (the trim) and paint it or glue it togther. otherwise make wider cuts. and i believe once you put the glass in it should help keep it pushed in the corners.

is it rubber? I used to be a Glazier and when you put rubber around the glass to seal it you always cut it long and kinda force it in because it shrinks over time. As far as cutting perfect corners try a framing square as a guide. You can get a plastic one at home depot for like $3.00 USD.

The trim I'm using I bought from Spaceagepaint here in Phx, AZ. I'm using it to trim around some windows I cut into the back of the motherboard tray.
I figured out how to get it into tight corners. I cut the trim on the motherboard side of the tray where it won't show so that the trim would bend a bit easier.
Problem I'm having now is how to get the corners to stay flat. ( see photos )

what if you heated the corners a bit so it melts down (im presuming this stuff is some kind of plastic)
