If any of you liked Forza2 you will love Dirt. It would be especially good if you have a steering wheel.

I have the DiRT demo, and it's amazing. Definitely gets my vote.

I've been playing it for a while today and it's awesome! Way better than Forza2 because the terrain is more interesting.

wow.

Downloaded the demo because of this thread and ALLLL I have to say is thanks.

2 quick sample videos for anyone interested. (1st time running fraps and had it set to 60fps on full screen so its a bit sketchy[15-20fps])

Wow. I just downloaded the demo and I am in love. The trailers did it no justice (I watched several). The visuals are beautiful on PC, photo-real a good portion of the time. This is the first game so far that completely owns my computer at full res/graphics. Avg of 5fps full graphics @ 1680x1050. Check out my specs in my sig; should I be running it faster? Regardless its time to finally get the 8800GTS! Back on topic, I didn't think I'd like rally/off-roading racing games but this is different, very fun!

EDIT: +rep for informing me there is a demo, Mitternacht

I was thinking the same thing with 13-17fps at those settings. The best part is newegg stopped selling my gpu. The bfg tech 7950gt. whats up with that?:neutral:

EDIT:: Nvm, they put it back up. Weird... they took it off the site for 2 weeks or so and put it back on? It wasn't out of stock either. wtf?

I just downloaded the demo and gave it a whirl. First I set it to 1280x1024 ultra settings. That sucked. Got maybe 1 fps. Changed ti to high with the same resolution, got maybe 10 fps. Then set it to medium and it is playable. Looks like fun, and when I have time I will try it at home, although my machine at work is way better. Here are my system specs;

Dual xeon 5160 @ 3.0 ghz, 4 mb memory, ATI X1650 w/512mb

I can run splinter cell double agent on this system at max setting with no lag at all. Have not tried any other games yet.

Don't jump to any conclusions on how good the graphics are buy performance the game is badly optimized. I don't like the game its not very realistic Forza 2 is way better. The steering is not very real it has too much give
