2 years ago when i built my first pc i had ideas to mod the case , trick it out , and make it the best thing ever. 2 yrs later I didnt do a thing except watercool it. Looking back kinda was sad that i didnt pursure modding but I was so caught up in building my first pc I was happy enough. This time im building a new computer and this time im GOING to mod the case. The case in mind is this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112040 , and im planning on using fans as my cooling source and not watercooling due to the last ones pump leaking. Wasnt anything serious, just dripping so after that i didnt want to deal with it :/ maybe later. Pretty much im 16 got a dremel but am very new to modding. I want to get this done before school starts and get it up and running before the next lan which is about a month and a half.

----

Any ideas that any of you have will be greatly appreciated, i have some ideas of my own that I want to do but wanna see what all of you suggest, and just a reminder I am new so Im trying to head towards easy but nice mods.

---

So far my rig will contain this.

well to start off, none of your links work. i'm going with a Q6600 since its price is dropping.

as for a mod idea, the in light of the new transformer movies you can do something there. or better yet Resident Evil.

YOU need to pick a theme YOU like and then go from there. Remember, it's your case and you have to like what you do, not what others may like.

It's addictive this modding, so Welcome to the Forum and have fun!

Then i read what Bucko says lol. Thanks all for the few words that u gave me and thanks for the welcome and ill post what I come up with :D.

Cool idea! I have always liked snipers too (provided I'm not in their sights). I am curious to see what you come up with!

Why buy, Why? Those would be quite easy to make yourself and would add to the fun of modding, it's no fun to buy the parts and screw them to the case.

yes i forgot to say welcome to the forums... silly me.

and ya i like the sniper idea. buy a whole wack of case and make a GIANT! sniper rifle haha. have removable "bullet" hardrives. that would be soooo much work.

A couple of theme ideas for you, a soft green glow inside the case to look like night vision. And if you are going to watercool you should make an oversized scope from various sizes of PVC pipe and mount it on top of the case for a home-made resevoir. You could put a dim green LED inside for an eerie glow...

Wow I tell ya you guys are much more helpful then xoxide :X lol that was my first modding sight. This is my new home lol. Fan Grills true ill see what i can do maybe since the wire grills look somewhat of a crosshair I can tinker with them. Also the scope idea is great but watercooling is not going to be in this computer, im actually going to try to find a scope like the one in the picture and mount it on the case making a handle. Gonna try to get a real working one :P

Also on the cold cathlodes I will put in green does make sense as night vision, so ill probably replace all the blue fans/put green leds in them. Good good my ideas are jogging! lol

1st off I welcome you to TBCS and you're new addiction, C.D. (Creative Dependency (http://http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7016&highlight=addicted)).

Not sure how far you want to go with this sniper case theme but I have a few suggestions.

What about a Ghillie Suits (http://www.ghilliesuitsource.com/?gclid=CPbmyIKhjo0CFQ-tYAodlg_bjw)? I'm not sure if you want a slick/shinny looking case or what but since all true snipers use ghillie suits I thought you might want to cover your case with something similar. Also you might want to look at some military theme switches (http://www.mnpctech.com/spdprtToggle.html) (this is one of many sites that sell switches).

Maybe later if you give a little more detail on what you want and you're willing to buy or build we might be able to give you a few pointers. Enjoy your modding and I'm eager to see what you come up with.

Well these are my ideas and yes the Ghillie suit was something i wanted to add in but not take to much of the case away.

On the window i would like to add a custom decal...something along the lines of a crosshair or a person with a sniper point towards the viewer.

Crosshair fan grills - take out current fan guards.

Green, night vision look with lights

Scope as a handle on top - Not whole gun because well i lan alot and its mainly at a college...so a gun wouldnt be a great idea lol O.o

and possibly the military switches like you said :D (great idea)

and im stuck there.

Mainly my budget is tight as i dont have a job. Im 16 and the modding hobby has been something ive wanted to do and its long over due. Mainly im sticking to easy stuff because ive never done this before and dont think i can do much but theres only one way to find out. TRY!!! I have some help from dad but he sees no point in modding, he doesnt understand it so im alone on this one lol.

LOL! Yeah these days I don't think folks would immediately appreciate the craftsmanship of a mock sniper rifle being toted around campus.

For the window, you could etch a crosshair relatively easily. You could mark the side and bottom edges with distance guides. Using one of these as templates...

ok ill order my case today, i wanted to get ideas before doing this and it seems like this is very possible so im gonna start it. Meanwhile ill still come up with some ideas and post em up. Thnx for the crosshairs.

Why
07-05-2007, 01:23 AM
well heres the vision got bad towards the top lol, and the decal on the window was someone facing out side with a sniper but once again it is a college and im not sure if it will be ok.

The green is susposed to be the cold cathlodes.

1st one http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4310/untitled1rt8.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

2nd one http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/1587/1copyjw0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Now the middle decal will be clear and lit up by the green and the bottom and top will be white vynl.

I dunno if the scope looks dumb and also i forgot military type switches in the front casue i couldnt find any good pictures but here it is http://www.frozencpu.com/products/5816/ele-249/Military_Style_Switch_w_Carbon_Fiber_Cover.html?tl =g4c153s318 with the green light.

Any suggestions or changes now that their is a visual. Also the inside of the case I hope to paint a forest green with a lighter green or a black like army style? Or should i use uv paint for a diffrent color with the addition of cold cathlodes. And with the switches I can switch from cold cathlodes to uv lights and vise versa.
