It appears that you stripped out the Gameboy Pocket internals and are now using it as an iPod Nano case.
If you haven't already, I suggest putting some felt or material on the inside of the case so the iPod doesn't get scratched.
Or you opened the Nano too and rerouted the controls to the Gameboy buttons.
Or you just took a picture of the iPod screen, printed it out and put it in the Gameboy case.

Yes, you can wire the controls through the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod.
I have no idea how to to that. Google might know though.

Anything is possible.
Search for "wired iPod remote" (such as this (http://www.amazon.com/Apple-M9128G-iPod-Remote-Earbuds/dp/B00009KO14)),pop it open, shorten the wire, and stick it in the Gameboy Pocket case.
The only thing you'll want to stay from would be remotes with the wheel because there's no wheel on the Gameboy and I'm not sure how you would make a "wheel to button" converter.
(Note that there is no way to scroll with that remote I linked to, nor is there an enter or menu button)
