Does anyone know if there are red cold cathodes available that are a deep red, instead of orange or pink? I have been reading reviews and all the lights seem to have problems making a true red. If not, I have thought about getting a red cathode and then wrapping it in translucent red plastic to make it more red. Would this work?
Haven't seen any "true" red cathodes. I would think the red celophane would be your best bet at getting a deep red.

You can also use a red marker to color a white CCFL quite effectively.

I (on the other hand) AM looking for Orange CCFLs... any help would be stellar.

Same thing, orange marker will fix it up. It's a tip from the Modder's Holy book (Paul's)

I used blue auto tint. A little soapy water and a sponge.
1. Cut thin strip of tint
2. Peel Backing
3. Apply soapy water to Light
4. Apply tint over water
5. Sponge soapy water from under tint
If you want it darker apply another layer of tint but if you go pats 3 layers it will start to come apart.
It's a pain in the but, however it looks pretty clean.
