Im not dead yet...just really busy and dealing with a POS computer...

500mhz with 64 megs of ram. :((((((

Anyways, im just stopping in to ask a question of everyone.

when dealing with a casemodding supply website (xoxide...etc), what sort of products would you want on it?

tools? Coolings system?....etc that kinda crap.

Anyways...Howya guys doing!

It's been way to f'n long.

a site where you could get everything that you needed in one place would be great: tools, electronics, cooling and any sort of meterial that you could ever want.
But thats just really a dream because a site like that would have to be absolutely freekin huge.

Well, Im workings towards a website that does all of that. Hence why im asking you guys the questions aswell ^.^

Anything you think would be cool and make life easier for the computer casemodder (Beginner or hardcore)

If theres tools and computer hardware and case modding material on there it will be awesome :) basically i agree with calumc

i kinda guessed thats what you were at Ichbin.
you should stock things like sheet aluminium, rivets, a selection of set screws+nuts. that wuld probably help you to stand out from the pack a bit because it's always small things like that that you always end up running about the place trying to find.
you should also get some tutorials on it for beginners.

Trust me, if anything spawn...im going to ship worldwide. Ive heard way to many complaints about websites not shipping outside the US

On the economical side, I would say you should definately carry the high demand items like plexi (probably the biggest), mesh, wire management items, lighting, etc... But I would love to see a website that carries all of the raw material and clever solutions to modelling. Unique hoses, specialized fasteners, extensive paint selection, fiberglass products, maybe even odds and ends model kits for kitbashing.

I would essentially want Performance-PCs (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php) except with a product search, modding tools, customer review options, building materials (plexi, aluminum, mesh, etc...) and a discount for tbcs members (jk on the last one :P). Seriously those first four things added on to Performance-PCs would be the ultimate modder's/specialty parts site! Pluses from Performance-PCs that should be on your site include:
-Huge range of parts (cables, case parts, bay devices, etc...)
-Option for certain products to come sleeved (if you could do it)
-Well organized categories
-Several product pictures
-Gaming equipment/PC Peripherals

Anyway, my big mod is coming after my first paycheck, so if you can get it up in two weeks I'll be your first customer!

-Indybird

EDIT: You should also have a "how-to" section (with links to it from related products) for certain common modding processes.

Oh well, but what do you think of everything else I said?

so far...from what youve guys have said, and what I already kinda know, I think I have a good idea what should be on the product list.

Ranging from...

Barebone computer kits to sheet metal.

Bondo, selection of pants, some nit-picky art stuff. Raw materials such as screws, rivets, metal, plexi...etc. Tools to work with the raw materials. Tutorial Page.

list goes on. lol.

Make it McMaster with sane prices.
McMaster is usually my source, for research. i use it to figure out if the **** is actually manufactured, then buy it from somewhere else cheaper.
If you could have an availability of odd shaped tubing, mesh, perf sheet, and make it look classical and organized, I would have to set a new homepage.

Also think electronics something like Electronics goldmine.

Kit Bashed Grab Bags!!!

I agree with the grab bag idea and the free stickers.

This product site has the potential to be great if you can pull it all together. I'm just glad I'm not you man. I can just imagine the kind of headaches you're going to get.

I have one suggestion right off the top of my head that might set your site apart from the rest besides an all in one site for modders. It's more of a designing aspect. Instead of trying to make the site look all futuristic or have a lot bright colors like all the rest of them I thought it would be cool to a have an old fashion look and feel to it. It would be cool to have the look be old but the products be new and high tech.

Here are a few links each with a little of the look I'm talking about.

Old fashion looking text tutorial (http://www.photoshop.0tutor.com/archive/58/Great-yellow-grunge-text-in-photoshop.shtml)

Just an idea I thought I would put in your head to think about. Whatever you decide to do with the look of your site I differently know I'll be visiting it often if you can deliver the products at a reasonable price.

i really like that idea honkey, ill definitally look into that involving design when i get to that stage.

as for headaches....you don't even know the half of it. worse things ive had so far, is going on different supplier websites asking for wholesale stuff, and they say call "Paul" or something...and there isnt even a paul working there.

ridiculous.

looks like it'll be going straight to manufacturers for stuff then!

You should have a link to TCBS on it!:p :p

I'll definitely give you a bit of business if you can give decent rates on postage, hope it goes well for you.

it'll all get worked out. But im not plugging anything until i get approval. Plus its way to early for me to even think about getting ANY links out. Again, all research stuff.
