Following on from the success of my sore finger drive (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6932), (particularly post #8 (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showpost.php?p=80427&postcount=8)) I now find myself looking at my latest acquisition, a 1GB thumb drive.
This time, I think I'll insert it into a bone. A real bone. Probably from a lamb shank.
Question is, what must I do to the bone to make sure there are no nasties in it?
Boil it forever in disinfectant? Lacquer it?
Any ideas?

The best way to clean bone is let it soak in bleach (probably 1/2 water) for a while. Chlorine kills just about everything that lives and it'll whiten the bone to make it pretty.

Then, after it dries out, lacquer it. Smoke, grease, etc is what causes yellowness in antlers, and the same applies to bones.

Hmm, thanks. That's given me some pointers. Although they are aimed at bones from dead animals which haven't been cooked and eaten...
