I remember the GT90.. unfreakinbelievable!!!
2 V8 engines with 2 cyls chopped off each, then merged together into a V12. If I recall correctly, 4 turbos, 900ish hp?
Here's some pics! (http://www.supercars.net/cars/695.html)

Is he planning to put an engine in there? I don't get it...is it just a full sized model? I thought he was restoring a written off car or something :p

I believe, and I'm not sure, he's making the 'bucks' so he can shape the body later. ("Shape" the body? Or is he going carbon fiber/fibre?)
But yeah, I'm thinking it's a full-size working car. At least from the suspension arms.
I wonder what he'll do for an engine.
BTW, GT, tell your friend THANKS and that his car is amazing!
If he needs LEDs or a on-board micro computer, he can swing by here!
keep us updated, even if its just the pics. I've always liked the shape of this car.

WOW. There are a lot of man hours in that thing.
I wonder what he's doing it for? Surely there are easier ways of working with glass and carbon fiber so I doubt he's going for the real thing... but why build a giant model?
I WANT MORE UPDATES! *stomps around*

Rear "deck" removed and benched for ease of working on.
mesh added to deck and rear openings roughed out.
rear face next to be meshed.
Some pics of the Albins transaxles I mentioned earlier
One each of the 10" and 11.5" crownwheel options if memory serves.

and if i may add, this is the link of the worklog: GT90 (http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-build-logs/21349-gt90-ground-up.html)
there you can read all the discussion on the subject
and for those asking what is he doing with all the wood, well he is making molds for body panels basically (also working out suspension geometry, interior construction and so on )

As much as I wish I was that guy could do that and had the ability to do that. I would rather build my own car or my own design. All though the gt90 is still sick nasty

Wow thats cool. Not a huge fan of GT90 styling but cool that it will be hand built. Be fun project to do that some day.

here is a question:
if we would say that we would vacuum form the molds on the car what would be used for the plastic ?

I have no idea whatsoever... but I'm intrigued by the problem.
Ok, obviously we're using plastic for the plastic panels... but I'm guessing there's companies that sell 'sheets' of these plastics.
Hmm... thinkin' thinkin' over here. :santa:

If he's going to make a production run... hell, talk with Rubbermaid.
Or if he can go aluminum, talk with Panoz.
They used hot sheets of aluminum vacuum molded for their Roadster. :)
Cool!!

so that story is true about Panoz NICE, Rolls Royce makes their jet titanium engine blades in a similar way...
back to the GT90 lol
if i got things right he will be using Fiber Glass for the body panels, the vacuum idea was mine, i was thinking if it would make his life easier whan he starts making molds, but probably good ol fiber glass is better, you can tweak it any way you want and so on

Some more progress finally

Reversing light recesses in place
"Tail lights" meshed over to provide surface contour for real lights (yet another project)
and a pic with them removed
