I have had a look around but kind find a good one.

I had an ipod mini but the battery crapped plus ipods have shat all battery life.

I basically want 3 things

Decent Battery life
Reasonably easily to navigate so I dont have to squint at a small screen
not to heavy would be nice

I only need like 2gb.

Cheers

Sony, they're a bit on the expensive side, but they're reliable, good battery life, nice design, good playback.

(Plus, expense won't be an issue if I can get it for you at cost price from my shop)

The iAudio X5.

Bit expensive I only need like a flash based one. My taste in music is very limited. :)

iPod Nanos have decent battery life (although you'll get better from a larger capacity model, honestly. I've had a 2gb and an 8gb and the 8gb lasted longer), but the screen is kind of small. I really like the Creative Zen V, however. It goes up to 4gb, has a FM radio, decent battery life, etc. For the 2gb model you can get it in black/green or white/green only, (4gb comes in black/blue, 1gb comes in black/orange and white/orange).

So yeah. If I was in the market for a flash-based small-capacity mp3 player, I'd get the Zen V.

Try the iAudio U2. It has around 10 hours of batt life, is the size of your thumb, flash bazed and around 80 bucks.

I have one and absolutely love it. Works great for exercise, listening in the car, using at work, etc.

lol. That was very persuasive Spawn! /sarcasm

But I actually do agree. When I first read the title of this thread, my first thought was "Creative". They are a great mp3 player brand, maybe not as thin or as flashy looking as iPods, but when compared side by side, thats the only draw back really.

You can always check out the review by Omega (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9355) too.

By the way, I've owned an iPod video. They aren't THAT bad, but I will absolutely never buy one again. I've never owned a Creative Zen, but alot of my friends and family have and still do. Through that experience alone, I would say that Zen's are superior to iPod's.

Now, I don't know about the rest of Creative's products and how they rank among the non-fanboy's, but for a 2gig mp3 player, I'm really digging the Zen Stone Plus (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16855102026) player. Haven't ever heard of it till now, so I'm assuming its pretty new. But it seems pretty sweet.

Jeez, I can see that! Everywhere I go that mentions them has people saying how much of an iPod Shuffle killer they are. Now, I try not to be a fanboy, but... Ha! Take dat Apple!

Here's a neat little video. I just quickly pulled it off of YouTube, so if there is a better one, whoops. But this one will show you its features, OLED screen and some really awesome accessories! So I'll just quickly say, this thing is friggen awesome! I just might have to pick one of these up... eventually... when I have more than "just enough" in my pocket. lol

I would say if you like the look of the ipod range (and like some other mp3 players) is to replace the battery with a better one, thats if you can be botherd looking for a new one opening it and changing it, iv heard that a upgraded bat will give over a 30% gain in life..

not too sure on the prices yet (google) but thats what im gonna do with my ipod video 80gb because my hold button has gone.

WoW This thread has become an interesting read.

A small hicup has ocured Conwon IAudio players are pretty much impossible to come by in Australia.

So I will have a look into some creative players.

So how much battery life does a iPod Nano actually get as I am getting conflicting reports.

Edit:

I quiet like the look of the

Creative Zen Neeon 2
