The custom-built performance motorcycle, named Die Moto, was designed
and fabricated at The Crucible, an innovative industrial arts education facility
in Oakland, California.

The motorcycle has already reached speeds in
excess of 130 mph running on pure biodiesel fuels. In September 2007,
The Crucible team plans to shatter the diesel motorcycle land speed world
record, currently 105 mph, at the renowned Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

Running on biodiesel, the bike emits 78 percent less net CO2 compared with a standard diesel engine.

. .Preddy nice for a Environmentally Friendly Bike Eh?

Reminds me of the movie "The World Fastest Indian".

Pretty cool bike. I'm planning on getting some kind of motorcycle one day, not sure what yet, but probably those sports kind, you know, the Ferrari's of motorcycling, lol... but my truck will suffice for now.

I used to run my landrover on a mix of 90% rape-seed oil and 10% diesel. Very ecofriendly. Used to annoy the hell out of me when people shouted "eco-insults" in my direction, as they do here now in London. Perception and reality can be such different things. I was driving a fossil-fuelled nightmare to them. To me I was driving on last years sunlight.

Personally the most amazing thing to me about this is that the speed record for a diesel bike is only 105mph???? ..... I'm surprised every biker in the world isn't trying to break that cos it can't be hard at all. I'm seeing a low slung tractor engine a big gearbox and more torque than a nightclub full of footballers wives.

^^^ What he said!

:) Exactly my thoughts.
If the record is a measly 105mph... how come more people aren't breaking it?

But the bike is cool. :)

New "Modders Challenge": Build a watercooled dual-processor motorbike that breaks the word speed record ?

... might need a solid state disk to make that function hehehe

Ironically enough, another tab in my Opera is the review of the new Sony laptop (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2007/07/23/Sony-VAIO-VGN-TZ12VN/p2) which has a solid state hard disk.

If I could go crazy on a mod, I would do a Corvette mod.

I would grab a 427 engine from the new Z06, slap on two or three alternators, about four air conditioning compressors.
Then build a "rig" Corvette-like, with air conditioned everything.
Procs, ram, disks, your seat, etc.
Huge sound system...
Ok, I need to go now. :)
