I was reading some thread about braizing and I had a Idea I may just do if I used the fins as the front and the sides of the case and tubes to connect it all together. then connect all the fins and use as a radiator for the water cooling system.

you mean build a case out of rads? would be difficult but worth a try if you can get them cheap or free. you would need to make some kind of mobo tray. and make sure none of the metal touchs the electronics.

nope build one huge radiator from scratch not so good at sketch-up but this is kinda what I am thinking

with more contours of course and pic isn't to scale

well you can give it a try but i see some hard times doing it. plus i'm not sure how much restriction and all that would be on it.
and +rep for a unique idea

yea gonna be hard but hell I build multi million dollar custom homes and compared to that this is gonna be a walk in the park. as far as restriction I'm not sure what you mean. I'm planning on making it pretty free flowing with alot of pipes.

it still creates restrictions in the system so i'm not sure how it would be compared to other rads, if you even can. adding anything increase its restriction no matter how free flowing. i'm not sure on how you can tell the amount of restriciton on things and how many pump(s) you would need. either way this should be one cool case, no pun intended.

wow!....dude go for it !!!...ud probably end up having to either find a industrial strength D.C pump or a large A.C one just cuz of the amount of water you will be using

This seems very similar:

One thing you could consider is using a radiator from an automobile. Obviously you will need to find one small enough to fit the case but they exist. One guy (I forget who) built a large external rad that just sits on the desk next to his rig and provides ample cooling with no fans (I think). To provide enough water flow, look into installing more than one pump in parallel arrangments which should help move that volume of water effectively.
EDIT: One other idea is heater cores for cars, they come in a variety of sizes, often cheaper, and provide excellent surface area.

Time to rip apart a Volkswagen beetle (http://www.uk-for-sale.co.uk/Volkswagen-Beetle.JPG)! 8)
Maybe the BMW Minis (http://www.lakeycars.co.uk/images/V%20MINI.jpg) are small enough too.

I would look at motorcycle radiators too. Smaller than a car's one, yet bigger than a heater core.
They are also generally thinner too.

Oooo, never thought of that. Great idea!

In older Eclipses and 3000GT's, they had side-mounted intercoolers.
Some turbos utilized air-to-water intercoolers, which is pretty much a radiator with the air forced thru it. Research a couple of 'em.
Edit: Holy f-in' Jesus...I have an idea for a computer mod....

Don't limit yourself to just radiators, you could look into large oil and transmission coolers as well.

he wants to make a case out of rads, not fit inside. thats what i understand.

accually I want to make a case that is a radiator. I've allready started buying 1/16" aluminum for the fins which I am gonna cut into the shape that I want for the case overall. then I am gonna buy some copper tubing, drill alot of holes. do a lot of braizing and alot of soldering. I'm gonna make it so it will slide over a regular ATX frame with about 10 fans blowing out, drawing air through the radiator. when I get enough materials I will start a worklog.

i thought thats what you were doing but i didn't really want to spoil everyone's conversation about car rads.
Can't wait to see haw this turns out!
BTW this in gonna be 1 expensive case with all that aluminium!
