i'm sure most of you have seen the PS3 power and reset buttons where you touch it and in turns on. is there any way to get these buttons for a pc?

that would be hard to find, the closest thing i can think of is a microwave button.

or those lamps that turn on when you touch them. you could isolate a nicely polished surface and hook up the (switch or w/e its called that makes the lamp the way t is.) and hook that up to the steel. then when you lightly touch it it turns on.

instead of keep the lamp in the picture above and making a remote you can just get the device/switch that makes the lamp work. but i have a feeling it need power.

i saw it done in a worklog once but it didnt say how to do it.

im pretty sure it was done by Zapwizard at ausinmodders.com but that site has been completely redone since i saw that log.
I think it was in a red-plexi cube shaped case but i can't remember the name of it.

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy the electrode and circuit-board pre-assembled?
All I want to do is buy what I said above and attach it to some plexi to make some touch sensitive buttons. I don't need beepers or LEDs. I saw the guide in bit-tech but it is far too complicated for me. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Indybird

if you can find a local furnature/lighting place you could find the cheapest touch lamp and rip it apart and see what happens or how it works.

I need something extremely small and thin such as the same touch-piece on one of those links... There's gotta be a place that sells just those.

Thanks,
Indybird

unless you're completely useless at soldering the guide on bit tech looked extremely simple to do, i mean there was only about 10 connections to be made

I've got two problems with tutorial: First, I need it to be much smaller. Second, I need an LED in the middle of the button.

Thanks,

if you read it more carefully the entire circuit that was illustrated was done "large" for educational purposes, if you just follow the schematics the actual circuit is quite small.

the schematic also includes a LED that is lit unless it is activated [when touched] which is what i think your looking for
