Ello guys, im new here and I was wondering if there is an easy mod that I can do to my Thermaltake Shark case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811133143

I've already taken off the case door, and added 2 fans to the open mesh side. All I currently have is a Soldering tool, and 3 large toolboxes filled with well...tools. I donot have a dremel tool however, and was wondering the cost. Thanks :)

rotary tools can go from 40-100+ i think mine cost 50 or so and its lasted 5-8 years so far.

as far as mods to the case go you can completely disassemble it and paint it, or just paint it assembled. i added a lock to my case, but yours as one already. you can add some CCFL(cold cathode) lights or led lights. on the subject of lights you can change out the leds on your drives, power indicator and hdd light.

here is my orginal case and what i've done to is so far.

Ah thanks for the replies, unfortunatly I have lost the key for my case lock. I will probably add some lighting, however my Monsoon 2 TEC cooler has bright blue LED's on the fan, and there is a frontal 120mm at the bottom to suck out hot HDD air with a blue LED aswell. "main reason I disassembaled the case door" A blowhold im assuming for the CPU cooler? Unfortunaly the cooler is a giant heatsink with a fan pointing downwards. Well, I may get a rotary tool today after I see Die hard. Thanks, any more suggestions? Im open to try anything. Im also seriously thinking about getting an airbrush after I saw the Airbrush Realstic Flames video tutorial :)

Modding is all about being creative. You have to know what you want the end result to be, or our suggestions don't help. You can always do something to a case. That being said, do you want the mods to be functional, or just aesthetic? If you want something functional, a blow-hole, or air duct is good to have. If you just want something aesthetic, add some lights, make a decorative window... The possibilities are endless.

A Dremel is a good tool to have. It does lots of things, and isn't too expensive. And an airbrush is a lot of fun. And with Commando doing tutorials, you'll pick it up really fast.

Thanks, as for what I want...aesthetic's is what I am opting for this time. I just want suggestions, or links to easy additions or subtractions from the case, I dont care what it is I just want to do somthing different with this hunk of Aluminium.

I suggest lights then, or maybe some painting (if you don't mind taking out all your parts). You could get a couple of LED fans, cold cathodes, or even just a few LEDs if you want to learn something about electronics.

Also, how is that case? Do you like it? I'm getting a new case soon and I've had my eye on that. Is it pretty big? Easy to use? Light? Sturdy? If it isn't too much trouble, I'd love to hear what you think about it.

It is an excellent case, all of the above :)
