Alright, so, I'm wanting to install a content management system on my site, but I'm just not sure which one to go with. So far, I have a list of some popular ones. Anyone here have experience with any of these, and a suggestion for which one to go with?

Here are a few

Drupal
e107
Joomla
Mambo
PHPFusion
PHPNuke
phpWebSite
PostNuke

Joomla, Mambo, PHPNuke, and PostNuke seem to be the most popular out of those ones.

I think I remember Commando saying Joomla was really good. I have to say, out of the ones you listed, that's probably what I'd go with too.

Forum looks handy as well.

We have PostNuke on the front page here at TBCS. It's a nightmare. Avoid like the plague. We've been considering alternatives and I've experimented with Joomla. I believe Mambo is the old version of Joomla, so it's the same basic thing. Not sure if there's a difference to be honest.

I think Drupal has poor security, but I'm not certain, you might want to look up wikipedia on that one.

There's also Wordpress, highly popular and very good. I think that one costs though.

Oh, and I got curious and looked up Drupal, we didn't write it off because of security holes-it was the PostgreSQL database. For reasons I can't explain just now we needed a MySQL database.

I can tell you the Joomla community is absolutely great. It's not perfect but most tech forums consist of a bunch of bigots who answer every question with "STFU noob, RTFM". Had this plenty of times, but not on the Joomla site.

I think mainly because the Joomla guys actually understand the questions I'm asking, if you get my drift. ;)

Hope that helps, and if you want to ask me anymore about CMS's, then ask me here. If there's anything I can't say publicly then i'll PM you a response.

I know of a friend who's using Mambo, so maybe I'll ask him and then look into that one more. Ask for MySQL, I have 75 databases, so I can use any of these. So far, Joomla seems to interest me.

I realllly don't like mambo, but then again...it was for a business site.

My choice as of now would be Wordpress. Works well, customizable and free.

Well, I decided to go with phpnuke for now. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to integrate my already existing PhpBB forum into phpnuke, if anyone knows anything about that.
