Hello all, my names Stephen but most people call me "Cooper". I recently found your forums and have been in complete awe of your communities feedback and works of art that have been produced here. This has just become more looked at than my homepage.

I have two projects in the works and I'll be more than happy to post pics ASAP, right now im in the process of moving and I have no idea where the hell I put my digital camera. So if you don't mind I'll give a little description to provide a little "feel" for what's going on with them until that time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Project: Autobot
Yes, a transformers themed project. The 750w Corsair power supply will be modded and formed to resemble the "Allspark" cube, however the top section will be clear. The PS will also have a few more LED's for extra flavor added inside so people can see it "working", possibly blinking LEDS.

The case will be as close to the Blue color that Optimus Prime sports in the movie. The front will be motorized with a 3D Autobot symbol on the front panel. The symbol will actually "transform" and open up to reveal the DVD-ROM with the help of 3 actuators. ( Still being developed)

The Nvidia SLI system is currently air cooled, but I am working on a sleek water cooled system with some pretty fancy artwork engraved onto the blocks themselve and some pretty trick piping.

There's alot more to be done and more idea come every day, this case will take quite some time to finish, right now it's still bare metal with welds and rivets holds some of the fab parts togather. The exact paint scheme I still have not decided upon. Optimus has a flame paintjob in the movies but I personally cannot stand flame paint jobs... almost everyone has them nowadays. Still trying to decide.

Much more to come on this one.

---------------------------------------------------------
Project: Disciple

This case is still being drawn out and I just found out about google sketchup 6 (love it!). But the plans so far is a Pearl white and deep royal blue case with a swivel out front panel. The front half of the cast will be the blue, with a 3D-Imbedded Cross modded into the front panel. It will be lit up with a yellowish/gold light. I want it to "glow" more than actually light up tho. The side panels will actually be a stained glass insert of "the last supper", which will also be lighted. It will light up but, you will not be able to see into the case. The bottom will have the LED footpegs that will glow to match the cross on the front panel. There will also be various scripts taken from the bible and carved intot he side of the case in cursive writting and I'm still not sure if I will have it glow or just be etched into acrylic or what. still planning..
--------------------------------------------------------------

I look forward to sharing my work as I get more completed. My main focus is the Autobot case right now. I love to design cases, I went Auburn University on an art scholorship, I have almost 2 sketchpads full of case drawings and ideas and I'm always thinking up new stuff. As odd as it may sound, I'm almost 26 years old and this is what I want to do for a living....either that or be a pole at a stripclub... meh..

If anyone would like to share ideas or has questions i'd be more than happy to comply, please forgive me if the above is not properly punctuated or not quite clear enough. I'm in the process of moving and Im sneaking this in while my GF is in town grabbing dinner... shhhhh!

Technically this should probably be in a different section of the forums.. but I was trying to give a somewhat introduction and overview all in one. Multitasking at it's finest!?

I only have pictures of the metalwork I have done so far, but like I stated above it's on my digital camera that needs to be unpacked.. and found too, come to think of it.

I had the same Idea of using alot of acrylic for this project for the 3D effect. Possibly some etchings. Right now I have been working on the actuators and still have a ways to go, but the Autobot symbal is on the front panel, with the 3 actuators I have, the symbol will actuall slide out and open in 3 different ways. I'll try to do a layout on sketchup to show you how it would look.

My main ideas so far is blue and chrome, give it a shiny mechanical look.

wow i thought of creating this(Project: Autobot) but the etching would cost too much for me to get done. Good luck with the mod! also welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the welcoming. I have been doing mods and playing with models for a very long time. The etching is a trail and error learning process, mostly error. Luckily I have a pretty nice shop setup in my garage and I have a friend who has a machine shop, he's done all the work on my engines for my mustangs and lets me use the shop whenever I need to. My biggest problem that I can still think of is coming up with a paint scheme.

I blinked and this thread turned into 2 pages.

A big welcome to the forum from down under. Your ideas for Project: Disciple sound really neat no one has really done Pearl white before.

I have a job, GF, 3 rottweilers, a Paintball addiction, 2 car payments, dragstrip addiction and shop that seems to swallow up all of my cash, no matter how much I make.

Is that the toy mask that I have seen at Wal-Mart? I was looking at the layout of one the other day and almost got it just to rip the sound board out of it and use it.

'Well, first of all it's almost 6' 11"in transport mode and transforms into a desktop mode. Hey, it's Optimus Prime!'"

"What was the biggest challenge he faced in building this mod?

'To be honest, knowing when to quit adding stuff to it and also knowing when to stop staring at it.'"

"John Mangus's Optimus Prime PC Mod - This week's winner, the Optimus Prime PC mod is a Transfomer that can grow from a reasonable desktop height to over 6 feet tall!"

Im sure he worked really really hard on it, but it's a bit much for my liking. I like stuff to be a tad bit more practical.

I get the impression looking at it that it does not transform. I think the legs are just a stand he puts it on. May be wrong there but its what it looks like.

"Transformers .." hahahahahha
