A trip to the shops today ... a month trawling this site and being inspired by all you lovely people and the wonderful, whacky, weird, wired mods, thoughts and creations you have, or fall upon and plan and make ... It's my four week anniversary of joining TBCS tomorrow :) ... hit my 200th post today ... and got my 2nd green rep box :)
... and realised my project list is longer than my arms (which I can't control in any case hehe)
I must finish DeskPooter (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?p=117126#post117126)
I want to make my nephews computer Deathstar (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9725)
And I now want to make a fully fledged media pc with a 7" touchscreen VGA control panel, DVD player, 80G hard drive, freeview digital tuner, Wireless network connectivity, S-video, HDTV, SP-dif and 7.1 surround outputs and remote control. And I want to put it in a box 6" cubed or less, preferably 4 1/2 " cubed ... can't decide between wood and aluminium for the case.
... but first I have to go into hospital where I will be having a couple of major surgeries ("Bod Mods") then a 2 -3 month physio rehab program. That leaves me one month of this year to make my nephews computer, two if I put my foot down with the physio and work like buggery.
Which is all a long winded way of saying I have to moderate my desire (Mind Mod) ... because I can no way do three Mod Mods and get the (much needed) Bod Mods this year. And also that I may soon do a temporary, but somewhat extended, disappearing act (signifying I am at last in hospital) YAY! - Having gone from 189 llb's to 119 llb's and lost 3 inches in height since injuring my neck three years ago ... its a big multicoloured YAY and marks a turning tide for me.
On July 10th this year I stumbled into TBCS as a place to put up some pictures of DeskPooter (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?p=117126#post117126) and say to other "mod it" types "hey whaddyathink?>???"
In the days since I have met new online friends, discovered much and learned lots, helped a bit and laughed more than I expected. It's been a hard month for me on the ground here, yet the people online - on here - have made it much more pleasant just by being.
Thanks for being you folks! - You're good people. :)
