Ok, i didnt want to openly admit it in the title, but this is my first mod!

I got this hunk of junk from my netball club because the harddrive blew and they got a new one. I'll be revamping it inside to give to a friend of mine, and seeing as im not charging her for it, I might aswell use it as a test subject!!! MUAHHAHAHAHAAAAA

Well anyway, this tiny piece of junk is a HP Pavilion 6511.
I have an old dvd burner from a dvd unit which i have to make a faceplate for. I need to buy a new hard drive, 2 sticks of 264mb sd ram, and perhaps a new processor, tho i'll be hard pressed to find one.

For the case, Shorty (my friend for whom this will be, and whom i will refer to quite often) wanted a Naruto theme, and being a decent artist, she's going to draw a shillouete for a side window.

Seeing as this is my first mod, i'm keeping it VERY simple, and i'll only be adding bits and pieces and painting. because the case is allready an interesting shape, i only intend to paint it and do simple mods. I'll save the big guns for my own masterpiece.

Besides, Shorty doesn't want to spend too much on this, and seeing as she doesn't have a job, we're probably talking single digits!

This is the DVD burner i'll be using, it doesn't have a housing, so i'll have to make one.

These are some pictures of the case. Spiffy eh?

1 gb 0_o. Ouch, your one good friend.

Also, because the front is semi-clear, you might want to consider placeing some LED's or something to light it up, might look cool.

Okay...I have taken it apart properly and had a look. It's a prebuilt job as i suspected, and the board wont allow a better cpu, and i cant get a new board cos it wont fit in the case. Sooooooooooo...PLAN B
I'm going to the computer markets next week and buying a new case and hard drive, and i'll build one from scratch. MUAHHAAHAHAAAA.

Stay tuned, this workog will be updated with the new case next week!

Yea,... I've seen him around. Good luck with your project bro! Some words for you,... anything is possible, no cutting corners, be as creative as you can, and have fun doing it. Oh,... if something you want to do requires hard repetitious work and because of this your thinking about not doing it,... just do it and get it over with. It will most likely be worth it when your done. Good luck.
