I am working a on project and I need to splice a USB cable. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. I am familiar with soldering wires and heatshrink and ect, but I was just wondering if their is anything special I need to know about USB Cables.
Well.. I've messed around with them a little. I used one to mod my xbox controller so I could use it on the PC. What exactly are you doing with yours?

Well I have a USB Extension cable I need to run thru a peice of plastic, but i dont want to cut a hole big enough for the plug. I was just going to cut the cable and feed it thru, then splice it back together at the lenth I need.
Simple enough. Go for it. The wires are color coded so just make sure you match them up when soldering it back together.
