QVGA and WVGA Touchscreens

EDIT: WOW no-one got a clue?????


I have found a supplier of 5.7" and 7" widescreen TFT's with a touchscreen panel at £90 or ~ $180 and £100 or ~ $200 respectively including taxes, described as below:

I am unclear as to how much work I will need to do to get that working with a PC and how much extra kit I might need - pointer's from those in the know would be welcomed.

I'm also not clear about whether these prices are reasonable (they are low from what I can tell in the UK but the dollar is weak which slants things for most of you).

Didn't read the pdfs but...

If it has RGB in, you can use it with any video card (at least I think; VGA should have the RGB signal in it and there are often S-video/RGB ports on most video cards.) and the Xbox 360 as that has RGB out too. (RGB aka Component video)

As for the touch panel part...I'm quite sure that can be run through the Serial port. (Haven't a clue what software to use or what wire goes to what pin).

They say "long lead time" and have no price which makes me think not.

I'm planning to use the screens for two projects. In one it will be a second monitor dedicated to controlling/playing media. In the other it will be the main interface for a PC that isn't a PC.

Thanks for the heads up .. I thought about the same. And yes the touchscreenpart is through the serial port.
