Well im in the first steps of starting my mod and am ordering parts/tools etc.
orderd my 2mm thick aluminum and went to order my mesh when i realize its stainless steel not aluminum, little miffed as i planned on a all aluminum build now ive never worked with either metals so im just curious how much these will contrast against each other and weather either or the other will stand out because of the different materials.
the aluminum is going to be brushed and right next to the acryan meshx what should i do.
i did want to use a really fine ally wire mesh but find any that will remain rigid over a large area so standerd perferated sheets are going to have to do.
let me know thanks guys

stainless is a little bit harder to work with because its not as soft as alu but they dont look that different, the stainless might be a bit darker just.
But dont worry about it you wont really notice any difference

Like calumc said, you won't really see a difference other than weight. Steel is heavier, so your case will be too.

And also, it's a good rule of thumb to not bump your post until the next day. There may be a lot of people on at one given time but we don't all have the answers, so patience is a must ;).

lol! gods honest truth someone replied with a picture of a bright shiny stainless steel cup and a dull aluminum cup which threw me off because they looked completely different hence me saying "bit of a bump in the road"
checked back and his post had vanished don't know how but it had gone lol!

Ahh, LOL. Never mind then, but still, you shouldn't really have any problems. It'll look a little different than you expected but it should be fine

From what I read up, aluminum is weaker than steel when comparing sheets of same size and thickness, but yeah, I think thats mostly attributed to the density. Also I read up somewhere that aluminum is harder to weld and solder than steel?

yeah...its harder to weld alu than steel...

the stainless when polished will be a bit darker than the aluminum..

are you gettin a sheet of colored mesh?

edit:
here is some pieces i made for another case im working on
