i have a knob kind of like a volume contol im wonderin how to properlly wire it . on each side there is 1 contact that look to be ground? they are joined and 3 on the bottom. .................jeez im triin to put a image to show but i dont know how whats my url for the image how do i find out:twisted: im gettin frusterated

Your image does not have a URL. You must host it on the internet for us to view it. Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/) hosting will work well and is free.
Look up potentiometer on Google. If that's what you're talking about (and it's the right ohm), then we can help you wire it up with relative ease.

its actully a volume knob but i like the look is it possible?

i'm going to guess probably yes, but even if it won't you can always remove the knob from the one you like and pop it (with or without modding it) onto a premade fan controller.

ok i read this article and it is really good and heloful but the input in the diagram is it positive negative ? im guessing the othe is straighit wired to the fan?
