Hi guys, your resident shadowy admin action-hero is back to save the day once again, but this time I need your help! Just like last time. ;)
I'm running a pilot study to get data for an experiment. The pilot study is a simple card matching game, sometimes known as concentration, memory and some other obscure terms. It's very simple and won't take you longer than 10 minutes.
All you have to do is follow this link and play three rounds of the game. Note that there might be a slight delay when you first click the 'start pilot study' button, as the images take additional time to load. After three games have been played, you can just close the window, or play again. It's up to you.
Notes:
1) This needs Java to work, and a Java-capable web browser. I'm sure most of you have just that. ;)
2) The data is sent at the end of each game. If you don't finish the game, I don't get the data. However, if you only play 2/3 games than I'll still get 66% of the data I want. :)
3) You can see the data that is sent to the server by opening up the Java Console. This is done by right-clicking the Java icon (windows) and clicking 'show Java [version#] console'. At the end of transmission, you'll see the ID number for that game. Each game has a unique ID.
4) Coming on from point 3, each game should be played to win without distractions. If you get distracted or stop playing, it could skew my results. If for any reason you think I should remove a game from the result set, just send me that ID number and I'll remove the data. :)
I need as many players as I can get, so please, pass it around and get other people to participate! I'll only be running the pilot for a week or so. I'll let you know about the results when I've finished processing them. ;)
Thanks guys!
-Dave
PS: If you see any bugs, please let me know ASAP. I believe it works properly though.
