I want to make a wideband radio transmittor. Nothing high power, just with a range from about 200mhz-1.2ghz ish.
Is there a simple way to do this on the cheap?

Best make sure it's legal first. Not sure what the public frequencies are in your area, have you checked it out?

I have a link somewhere to the open freq. in the US. Let me see what I can find. Also you might want to check out electro-tech-online.com and search for Audioguru he has several transmitter designs.
Thanks guys. I think if it's less then like 5watts it's legal or something like that
There's legal issues power-wise, but there's also legal issues in the frequency. If you accidentally end up transmitting on a government frequency, expect some dudes with crowbars to show up, and cavity searches whenever you fly. ;)
Make sure you're in the public frequency allocations. Here's a link-PDF warning. :)

Alright, well I don't need this circut anymore--please disregard
no fun I was ready to fire up eagle
Sorry man, didn't mean to crap all over the party :(

Don't worry Dave, it's not because of what you said. I don't mind illegal broadcasting. It's just I have no need anymore
