The classiest computer i've ever made.
So with my new computer finished with the upgrades I've turned towards upgrading my linux server. I use it for minecraft, hosting apps and a few other applications.
I finally had the opportunity to trade someone an old sound card and some sound goodies for a PCI-E video card. FINALLY I could upgrade my linux server since the only thing missing was a video card.
I got the case apart and tore everything out of it only to realize..... OH CRAP, this is a Micro ATX case... a standard ATX isn't going to fit.
CRAP.
I called a few other computer friends of mine to see if someone had one I could buy. None... bummer... I've already dismantled it and the new hardware is ready. I promised an hour of downtime. Hmmm what to do what to do.
I call one last friend of mine and he goes "Dude.. MAKE something. You mod, right? So make it work. Doesn't have to be pretty, just make it work."
Well... took a bit more than an hour but I welded a few tiny mount screws in place to support the motherboard where it needed and then cut the rest of the case up. I MADE IT FIT.
I showed my wife, proudly, my new linux server. Her response was "Good job, that's the ugliest computer you've made."
But man it sure is a hell of a lot faster than the last setup I was running!

Now, design a cover to prevent shortouts...!

Acrylic top? That would be pretty cool.

Open air chassis is always good cooling anyhow, haha.
Re: The classiest computer i've ever made.
well at least if somebody breaks in your home they won't think to steal it.
Tupperware containers (the big ones for xmas lights and crap you know) actually make pretty good ghetto mainboard holders or complete computer cases.

I like it. It does exactly what you need it to, and you haven't put too much money into it.
