If you want the neatest IDE cables you can pick up pre made ones in a range of colours (uv reactive aswell) for pretty cheap of ebay.
Your power wires are sleeved which is always good ( is that an antec neo-power PSU you have there?) , try tie wrapping them all together as they come out of the psu and then have them branching off as they meet there destination, on my rig ive shortened the power cables so they just reach as far as they need to go, you can get replacment connectors of ebay aswell in different colours ( i have blue uv and they look sweet) there the non-crimped self cutting type. You can even get coloured or UV reactive tiewraps of ebay, they look good up againnst black sleeving like you have.
Good luck!

the pwr supply i have is one of the thermaltake ones , thermaltake case thermaltake pwr sup. i always try to keep my brands togather, i guess you can say im kind of anal haha. yea once i get everything hooked up ill tuck stuff away and tie wrap most of it . you said you shortened the cables, did you cut them or did you just wrap them to where they needed to be ? . one more question , do the uv reactive products react to cold cathodes or led's? or do you need a blacklight?
Re: my first time building a computer...getting there
my UV IDE cables react with just a UV Cathode.
Re: my first time building a computer...getting there
I lined mine up to where they where suposed to go then cut them, i then added some self cutting molex connectors i got of ebay, they dont seem available anymore. There the type with metal slots in the top and you push the wire into the slots and it cuts into the insulation and creates a connection (see pics), the only ones on ebay at the moment are ones where you remove the current connectors and replace with the new ones (no good for shortening cables)
Wires pushed down
Lid on
To awnser you other question, yes they react nicely to a cold cathode uv tube, or even uv LED's.
I'll keep my eyes open for some of these connectors for you :)
