Project: Miracleman XB - completed
This mod is inspired by the incredible series written by Alan Moore back in 1982. Miracleman was similar to DC's Shazam. He was a young reporter who was given great super powers through atomic energy. Speking the word ATOMIC backwards: written as "KIMOTA" is what transformed him into Mircleman.
The series gets very dark. It touches on mass genocide by super heroes and the idea that we may not be alone in this universe.
The victim case is the Cooler Master HAF XB.
But first it needs to be stripped to the bone
Then blasted with a bright sail boat blue
Bottom
and top
The front panel metal mesh will be blue too
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
Nice!
Not to stray off topic, but whenever I see "XB" I think of this:
The Buell XB 12 S Firebolt.
OK, so I have motorcycles on the brain...
I am glad to see you constantly modding systems. Not sure how you have the time...
BTW: Who is this one for and what is it's function in life?
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
What timing .. I am about to start a HAF-XB myself. Unless I just jinxed it by saying something.. LOL
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
I wanted to do two 120mm fans on each side, but they won't fit
So I'll do 92mm fans instead (I'm not using the grills, they're just for reference)
Time for my hole saw
I cut two fan holes and the mesh on each side for windows
I just want to see how it looks, so I put the mesh back on. Yep, that looks stupid!
That odd looking honeycomb looks even worse
So it has got to go!
Now it's Red!
And so is the PSU shroud
And just about anything that's not already blue.

Re: Project: Miracleman XB
While the red paint dries we go dress up the blue chasis. First I put the hot swap bay PCB back in
On to the cooling. The Cooler Master XB only comes with two 120mm intake fans, but I want 140's instead
I'll be using Aerocool Blue LED Sharks
And I put the tooless clips back on
I really don't want to see the stickers through the fans through the mesh, so I'm taking them off
I put the motherboard tray back in
And then a rear 120mm Blue LED exhaust fan
There's also another two 80mm Blue LED fans going on the back by the drive bays
Lastly, the slots cover go back in.
Next time we'll look at the side panels
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
I put the top piece is dry
And so is the PSU cover
The drive bay covers are done as well
Now I have to paint the side panels
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
It took 3 strip downs all the way to the metal for it finally to stick. This was a really annoying process, but it's finally done
Now it's time for some custom fan grills
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
Now that the sides are dry I put the plastic handles back on
Re: Project: Miracleman XB
I'm using an all plexi top
And using rivets to hold it in place. I put tape over the tip of the rivet gun so I don't accidentally scratch the paint
I got this custom applique from CrazyPC (I still need to remove the bubbles)
KIMOTA!
