15" display on Case side..
Hello everyone. I am new to the Case modding scene, so excuse all the questions.
First off, glad to find a website with useful info.
OK now my project I am looking into doing is to add my 15" LCD its an Envision LCD (dont know the model number off hand) into the side of my case. Reason, easy Lan parties. The idea is this though, it must be able to plug and unplug with ease from the video to be able to allow an upgrade of Video.
So my idea was to run the normal monitor cable through a opening on the back so it is able to reach around and plug in. Unless there is another way that seemed the easiest. Also, I know Monitors run and more voltage than the PC power supply is able to produce so i have an alternate hooked up in the 5 1/4 bays with venting through the top.
I have never modded a case before, But i am very profecient with wiring and any sort of mechanical work.
Thoughts? Ideas? Tricks?

Hey, welcome to the board.
I would try making an AC extension on the inside of your case. This way you still only have one cord to plug in.
Having the video wire go out the back of your case and into the card sounds like the best way for what you want to do.
Be wary of dismantling your LCD. If you crack it at all you could lose a whole line of pixels, or even half or all of the screen.
Make sure you have enough space on the inside of your case for all the internals.

And make sure you have proper venting inside that, even thought it's an LCD screen it still makes some heat.
