now CRT's are really old stuff... imagine a Vic20 monitor :D
That is amazing technology. Sony is also the company that made that "e-paper" portable PDF reader that was hot stuff like a year or 2 ago.
I wonder what happens if you scratch it...
-Cool-
scratch = DEAD
It seems good, but i can't see the pratical uses for home users, i can see it being aimed at corp customers, IE billboard and the such.
Hey XcOM, I am sure they said the same thing about LCDs when they came out. I know that the orginal televisions at first seemed that way.
Very useful at home. You could place those inbetween the panes of glass in a window so your window is you computer/TV screen. Install one in your bathroom mirror, you could have a newsfeed while shaving. So many possibilities with this. I understand that it is not for everyone but don't immediately write it off.
i admit that there a brill idea, a great leap in techology, i can there will be meny uses for it, but unless you intend to mount this on a wall, it won't be very usful
Can't fathom the endless possibilities. You'll find products in the supermarket that play their own commercial on the label! Your wall will show various backgrounds... and change as the sun goes down. Instead of reading a newspaper while one the toilet, you'll watch the local news on the toilet paper.
Billions of possibilities for this... we could integrate hi-tech mini computers with these "sheet screens" and having an interactive map on-the-go when you need it :)
theyve also made clothes that have something like this weaved into it
