been a bit of a lurker here now for a bit and have been very impressed by the quality of the mods..... some of the mods here blow me away!
Anyways thought i'd share my latest creation and become a bit more active here in the forums :)
This was the second full resto of this type of old retro style hp tower.

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
OH MY GOODNESS! This is one of the best Mods I have ever SEEN!! How much time and money did that take!? I absoloutely love that mod, there is not one thing I can criticise! And a W3 fan, great. I love the Side mounted LCD and the "visor" on the optical drive in trully cool and totally fits in with the rest of the mod. Do you have any other mods for us to see?
Any way, brilliant work, keep us posted and I hope to see you around the forums.
Similar games can be found on Target Black Friday Ad.
PS: Nice little digital camera you got there.

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
i raise my hats. this mod looks really awesome. although i would have put the cd drive in a lower position for easier reach (since its on the top of the desk) but other than that im totally impressed.

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
Very nice work.
Did you have to run the monitor cable back into the case for the LCD side panel? Or did you set it up all internal?

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
A wonderful breath of new life into that case.
I've always found that older cases can have more personality than newer ones. They have more shape and workable curves.
Again, love the case, grats.
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
absolutly beautiful.
i hope that one day i can do stuff like this...
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.

-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
Thank you very much guys :)
the cable does run thru the back and inside,Agreed Xato, its the curves that draw me to these cases :) Dante checking now :) Frakk! the next one will be lower :) Aka ra, the worklog is huge!!!

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
NOOOOOOO!!! not fair!! ive been thinking of the moniter in case idea for a couple of years. Now it wont be original.
Anyway Crongradulations man that is so freaking awesome, i know my version would not have come close.
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
Doesn't mean u cant still do it... If you want it to be original, just think of a twist to stick on it...

100% right!!!!! i coulda just stuck a lcd in the panel, easy! , but i thought put a twist on it and put in a window, in a panel :)
another one i did recently for my server mod, was to use the the whole panel and its casing and put that into a side panel, as well as still having a small top window.

theres soo many things you can do to put a twist on an old mod :)

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
Nice, would have been cool if the PSU was at the bottom of the case and the mobo was moved up, for a nice view of the CPU etc. But that would have taken some hardcore fabricating =D
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
ahhhh good thinking mate :)
i did somting similar when i did the Fusion mod,
Project Fusion
this time i was thinking of doing a mod to the psu to make it a bit more pleasing to the eye :)

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
One of these days, case modding is gonna be a full fledged art form..*tear* It's just so beautiful! *weeps with joy* :D

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
I just realized that your motherboard was stealthed. I thought it was an awsome mod anyway but that was an extra nice touch.
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
is liquid cooling difficult to do?
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
Not particulrly difficult, just make sure that everything is screwed on tight and that you thouroughly test it out before you put it in your computer or else there will be tears when you see your ruined computer soaked in water.
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
First off - Wow man..... wow.
Secondly - ..I am not to sure how I am going to phrase this but here it goes. How do you do the power set up.. I will use this mod for instance, but I have looked at a few others and this applies to them aswell. In your HP mod it looked like you used audio auxillary cables, and im just wondering how that works. I saw your photohost and i understand that you solder the red and black cable to the head, and then you plug it into your computer externally. I dont know where it goes from there... lol. Do you have like a junction box that you connect everything to? Maybe it is alot simpler than I am making it out to be. If you could, could you kind of give me a run down on how that works, or if there is a tutorial regarding this could i be redirected? Thanks a bunch man. Happy Modding. :)

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
May I ask what the price of this new computer was and what the specs on it are?
-
Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
Again thanx guys :)
Deviantgodd ;
the rear Audio power jacks on the back are just spliced into the 12v+(yellow) and a Negative - (black) on the main loom. in the case of HPR2 where all the power cables are hidden behime the motherboard, iv'e simply cut the male molex off and soldered these wire togther. then then feed out around the PSU to the back of the case where they are again soldered to the back of the female RCA plugs, then heatshrink is used to tidy eerything up :)
If you still feel stuck mate, i'll be happy to do a qick photo "howto"shoot to help out :)
NavySealLTBlue
It's hard to put a price on a mod like this, a lot of parts are brought but never used, paint is from my bulk supply as is the bondo. In aussie dollars , theres no way it cost more than 2.5k all up inc hardware, even with the LCD wich was brought SH for a meger 120au.
Hardware was middle end @ NF2 mothetboard with a XP3200 and a 9800pro being the bulk of the parts, a 200gig HDD and DVDcombo drive and 1 gig of ddr 400 ram was used. I suppose this older tech could be classed as lower end now.
The watercooling is pumped thru a full set of Silver Prop's latest series CPU,GPU and chipset blocks by Swiftech mpc600 pump. Twin 120mm Pabst fans cool a BIX rad and a custom made dual 380mm x 50mm set of tanks supply the life fluid.
The case has since gone on a tour of the citys bigger Computer Hardware stores for the next few months (missis baby) so i downgraded the VGA to a 9550 :) and lowered the ram to a single stick of 512.

Re: HP Resurrection II Evolution.
