Paul Capello @ Maker Faire 2007

If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, come check out a VERY cool event at the San Mateo Fair Grounds. I'll be there as a guest of Microsoft displaying Doom 3: Project Mars City, and Project Nighthawk. I missed the show last year and can't wait to check out the crazy stuff people like us are building.

I'll be setting up at the Microsoft booth on the evening of the 18th. If anyone wants to come help set up (hint hint) that would be spectacular. I'll get some free passes for anyone who wants to hang out and rep TBCS ;)

If I hadn't JUST used my frequent flyer miles a week ago...damn.

That would be awesome that would save some time on getting the pieces your making for me and I can meet the man, the myth, the legend too. Unfortunately since I only have a limited amount of days for leave and I have a family reunion in June plus I have to be up in 29 palms during the show I won't be able to take you up on your offer.:(

There is a slight chance I would be up for this. I have a close friend who lives not too far from there and I have been promising to visit for a couple of years now. I'll look into it.

Which bay area. There's more than one bay area in the world. I live in the ****ing bay state.

Now that's one trip I'd love to make!

Quick question that pops to mind:
CrimsonS, how is Doom 3: Project Mars City transported from one place to the next?
If knowing the answer involves emminent ceasure of life operations, I need not must to know.

I will also volunteer to help setup. I have _many_ trade show setups under my belt!
Let me know where/when/how to meet up (OK so the where and when are known, but...).

Oh yes, The Bay Area, is THE term for the San Francisco Bay, collection of cities (6 or 7 _major_ cities and a few minor ones). But it can be confusing if you have never been to this area. Just like going to Surf City USA. You will either end up in Huntington Beach (SoCal) or Santa Cruz (NorCal), although legally, you will find yourself in SoCal.

Thanks to all for the support, even if you can't make it! Cases are shipped via air ride truck by an art/exhibition handler, packed in boxes and set on a forklift pallet so they stay upright. Any other method of shipping is disaster.

Airbozo, I'm really looking forward to meeting you and having a pint or four. I'll be staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from Friday-Sunday. Not sure where this hotel is in relation to the expo fairgrounds. I'll give you my cell # and other info when the time comes. I'll be sure to put you down as TBCS staff for the event with an all access pass. ;)

Crimson, you need to do/be in a show in Raleigh, NC or something, then I'd definitely drag my lazy butt out of this chair and get out of the house, lol.

You shold have some TBCS T-shirts made. I would buy one!

Hopefully I'll find the time to take pics and post them on Saturday night. For the most part I'll be meeting and greeting people all day long, introducing the mods. I usually have to stick close to the booth. I've requested an internet line so I can keep in touch on the forums.

The display base for the mod is completed, time to crate this sucker up and ship it to San Francisco.
