Re: Project R2-D2 PC
Here goes R2D2's GRAND worklog reopening!
I made one huge mistake with this project, I installed the Vapochill. Ever since it went in I've had problems, so it's coming out. Sure, there will be nothing to replace my -42 Celcius, but anything is better than a 100lbs paperweight.
I'll have to remove the Vapochill and the shroud around the motherboard. I'll also have to find the plastic bracket to hold my new heatsink on the processor. Once I get the 38lb Vapochill out I'll have a lot of space from where it was serving no purpose. What to use it for?

Re: Project R2-D2 PC
If I had a good socket 478 waterblock, I'd already have a setup, but I don't do gaming or anything that I'd really need a great cooling solution for. Plus I'm really disappointed with my Vapochill Experience; a bad watercooling experience will cause me to toss R2D2 down the damn stairs.

Re: Project R2-D2 PC
I removed the Vapochill hose from the motherboard.
And fed the hose out of the bottom.
It looks like R2 is giving birth to it here:
And here it is all out and now it’s on ebay.
I put my new Thermalright XP-120 heatsink in.

Re: Project R2-D2 PC
But go figure the bracket that came with it was designed to hold one of those generic black fans on, not mine.
I went to Lowe’s and bought this threaded rod. Luckily I bought a few because bending them into brackets caused some to snap.
I affixed them to the fan
And put it on.
