Starting a modding contest!!!

well i thought id clarify things just a little bit. ive gotten a few questions about this so far.

judges: you dont have to worry about anything right now. your jobs come in august when the entries are submitted. you guys can just sit back for now. i get to do all the work in the mean time.

contestants: start work now. even though there hasnt been anything announced yet, go ahead. for the sake of simplicity, im going to hold strong about submission starting a week before the deadline. i have exams at the beginning of august, and they are done on the 8th, which is exactly one week before the deadline. that lines up nicely in my schedule, so i dont have to be multitasking.

for future contest, i wont ask that you only submit in a one week window, you will be able to submit any time.


now as for the announcement... ive fired off a little speel about it to DaveW, as he mentioned putting it on the front page. if you guys want to see an announcement... kindly direct your nagging to him (not that i mean to be putting pressure or anything.... but i think we're all waiting). you can nag me too if you want, but i dont have any power beyond what im doing now.

so... if you guys want this to happen (i know you do, and i do too), lets keep the momentum going, and um dave... we're ready when you are;)

yeah, I'm ready too :D
just finished rebuilding my mod (had to paint the inside) and now it's all back together and much better looking
and above all... it works again :D
will make pictures tomorrow or so, and will post it as soon as the submit-week is ;) (I will also post it somewhere else on this forum...)

Yep photoshop, macromedia flash animations (although im really nooby at flash), 3ds max (even noobier, so darn hard to figure out)

Well this sounds interesting.. Would it be a problem if I'm an admin on http://pixel-team.com already? I'd love to enter but my computer is already top of the line fully modded .. air brushed and a 3d render on the other side .. liquid cooled , uv tied and cathode and uv fan filled..

I have the power! well maybe not but, if you hadn't noticed ve got a news update on the front page poted by DaveW maybe if i write something up and send it to him he MIGHT put it on the front page, well see been busy latley thou, Also ill get to work on some ideas for graphics

nope, no problem entering. you probably fall in the master category (its your choice on what level you want to enter in though). just send me the pictures and writing somewhere between august 8th and 15th.

It's already on the front page...including links that i added in for you...just don't let me down ;)

to add to that:

1. dont let this little hiccup scare you... things happen. i wont let this contest slide as long as im in charge.

2. as soon as i mention sponsoring or prizes, nobody seems to be interested. anyone have any ideas for finding donations? this is probably the single most aggrivating thing right now. i cant inspire anyone to give anything.

3. everything that i laid down before still stands... so as you were men....


ive got this bad feeling that we may end up without much for prizes. ill bet you we have to prove ourselves first. we probably need one contest to go by so i can take the results and say "look at this talent we have here... if you were smart you'd associate your products with people like this"

so aside from that... we now return you to your regularly scheduled day.
