Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I'm playing Revenge of the Titans and some other stuff, Magicka and Spiral Knights.
Revenge of the Titans is fun, but I didn't realize at the beginning that things like money carried over from level to level, so screwing up at the beginning can make the game literally impossible later on.
Spiral Knights is fun to play when I'm watching a movie or TV show windowed on my computer as well. It's pretty mindless.
Magicka is sorta fun. I'll have to play some more to see if I really love it.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
@d_stilgar: Magicka is a lot more fun if you have someone to co-op with online. If you want someone to play with, hit me up on Steam; I'm CG||Mjr_Boothroyd .

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I finally got around to giving TF2 a go and I must say it is pretty fun. You get none of those rage quits and hack accusations you get in so many other games, must be the graphics and overall fun game play.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Just beat RF:Armageddon. Pretty fun game, lots to destroy. I like throwing a building at an enemy any day lol. It was a pretty predictable game for me, I've followed the Red Faction series since the first one came out.
I agree with most ratings I've seen and give it 7/10 overall. I'd wait a bit and get it at a cheaper price if your interested in it.
I got the pre-order deal and got 1,2, and 3 for PC. Good times replaying the older stuff. RF1 is still the best IMO, since it's the only game you could destroy ANY wall.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Downloading the fear collection on steam, got it 50% off. Never played it, looking forward to it!!
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Personally I loved FEAR and FEAR 2. Never played the other one though...
While they are both severely lacking in the plot and atmosphere areas, both FEAR and FEAR 2 I think really nailed the gameplay aspect. There's just something about the way the firearms work in those games that really clicks with me.

I saw your comment about Revenge of the Titans and I was like "what game is that". After further investigation its basically a sweet tower defense game. I love it. Some parts are pretty hard but you get used to it.
Also Magicka is really really fun. I had to take a break though because it gets really hard when your alone. It really is a team game.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
i finally beat the last boss in redneck rampage saturday night. so i loaded up redneck rampage route 66 and found my hard drive had some bad sectors. so now i have to build a new dos box and reload everything. which is fine since i found out i only had a 266 mhz processor and 50M of ram. so the new machine will have the 450mhz proc and 256 m ram.

So far I have really enjoyed it, only played it for about an hour or so.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Well, I finished my last mission of COD MW2 and these days I’m playing GTA San Andreas. Also I’m counting my fingers for release of COD MW 3.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Right now I'm working my way through the Might and Magic series, currently I'm on Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven. But I've got about 15 games qued on Steam that I'm going to be playing through, since I quit raiding in World of Warcraft I've got a lot of free time lol.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Finished the BF3 campaign, Finished the Modern Warfare campaign (wont touch online), playing NFS Hot Pursuit (the latest), BF3 online, Metro 2033 and a few other things.
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Finished Ghost Busters (pretty good game actually! little funky control style but its pretty sweet bustin ghosts and its a good story line)
Turok I beat awhile back, thats another pretty good game, although the dinosaur AI is a little strange.
Metro2033 ftw.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
On the other end of the scale..
In my meager free time the last few days I've been playing through Bastion. Quite a fun little game. :D
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I have been playing BF3 online (I started the campaign and got bored lol), Portal 2, started playing Oblivion but haven't really done much other than get past the sewers/first dungeon and get out in the open world. I still haven't finished FEAR yet... :think
need to get back on that game. That game is creepy!

Yeah...for the first playthough.. IDK if I'm just incredibly jaded or what, but after the first playthrough of FEAR, none of the FEAR games freak me out anymore. They rely entirely too much on the "Holy ****, I didn't think that would happen!" reaction....and then proceed to do the same thing over and over... I will say, though, the gun mechanics in those games are spot-on. :D

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
The AI is pretty awesome as well. I kept getting surprised be baddies flanking me until I figured out what they were doing lol.
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I have been playing Bastion on and off as well, got about half way through and moved onto something else. I have a bad habbit of not finishing games I start. I finished Portal 2 as well a while ago.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Well, the only one I had money for, and love, is the Minecraft.
No money (or account) for ANY steam games :(
I'd do that Steamgifts thing; however, I must have $50 in games in order to do it.
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Lol just wait til they go on sale around black friday/christmas, most games are dirt cheap on steam.
Beat Portal 2. Anyone wanna play the co-op with me?
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I'd love to; again, lack of funding for games. sad-lol.
*sigh* The only reason I could afford even Minecraft is I bought it at the 2-for-1 deal.
Anyway....
The other game I love to play is the C&C 1st Decade.
Maybe we could throw together a TS party some time?
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Heck yeah that would be fun. I think I still have a copy kicking around somewhere from when they made it a free download.
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I know that someone made a nocd patch for TS.
Hey, EA made it freeware, no more need for licensing.
We just need to organize a time.
Just can't wait for RA2 to become freeware *shakesinexcitementandsleepdeprivation*

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Playing Rocksmith. Pretty sweet to have a game that lets you play any electric guitar. Definitely a fun way to keep motivated and keep practicing.
It can be a bit frustrating when you finally get a section of the song and it immediately ups the difficulty. I wish it let you play it a few times all the way through before doing that, to instill that feeling of accomplishment, and not go all Demon's/Dark Souls punishing on your arse, lmfao.
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I was wondering about that game, how well it would work. Functions ok?
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Seems so. I was never anything more than a beginner, and it's been a few years since I picked up my guitar, but yeah, it seems to work pretty well.
When I hit the right note it picks it up, when I miss it knows too. I had a tough time getting it to register palm mutes, but I'm getting better at it, so it was just me being a noob.
I wish it had the option for you to pick a set difficulty. The scalable difficulty is an intriguing thought, but switching to a higher difficulty for a section the second you nail it never gives you a chance to play through a whole song and feel that accomplishment. The leveler is interesting as well, but again, if you nail a section once it levels you up, and can put you with something you aren't ready for.
I say all this, but it has motivated me to play / practice for more than three hours a day since Saturday night. I am getting noticeably better.
I just wish it let me play through a song once or twice at the current difficulty while nailing it, before letting me know, "Hey, the song is really much harder then that. Here's some more notes, noob". But even then, I feel like less of a noob than trying to practice / learn on my own.

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Homefront over the weekend on normal, 3/4way on hard now. Bought it Thurs with steams sale on it.
-
Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
I just beat Duke Nukem Forever. Boobies, guns and blowing stuff up. Doesn't get any more basic than that.

I was looking at it on that steam sale. What did you think?
I have been playing Atom Zombie Smasher (indie game from one of the humble bundles) and it is sooooo addicting. lol

Re: What have you beaten recently? What are you playing?
Since I can't get my Skyrim fix because I refuse to pay $90AUD for it (I have a copy coming from the UK, only cost me $44AUD :D) I started playing Oblivion again.

Overall, I like it. Keep in mind I am coming from long time player of CS and CSS.
Pros:
1. Play was cool but similar to most other FPS like COD but with the vehicle options like BF (from what i've read, never played).
2. Graphics were pretty impressive even on Medium settings for my PC to play smoothly. With my sig pc on Medium it wouldn't do much over 60fps even in low action scenes.
3. Quite a few weapon (gun) choices after killing KPA or getting to a depot. Ammo can be limited though.
4. Story line is good in my opinion.
5. Vehicle/alternate weapon choices are cool and fairly easy to control. Helicopter takes a little getting used to in multiplayer as it isn't the same as single.
6. AI is not half bad. Just when you think you cleared an area, there would be KPA, or they would find a way to come from behind.
7. Worth 7.50, not so sure about the 30 they still want when not on sale.
Cons:
1. It is quite directed and there isn't any free roam in campaign mode. It is very closed off to exploring maps.
2. The biggest thing I didn't like was how short campaign was. It was definitely made for multiplayer.
3. My PC struggled at points even on medium settings. My PC isn't new by any means though. Maybe I just need a reinstall?..
4. Campaign is really short.
5. Normal seems a little too easy. I wouldn't call myself the best FPS player, but I think I am decent. I was able to "walk" through most of it.
6. Hard was pretty hard in certain chapters where I had to restart the scene 3-6times to complete.
Others to note:
1. Graphic Content. This isn't necessarily bad or good but something to note if kids are around... mass graves, dead bodies, blood splatter.
2. Verbal Content. Same as above. Definitely military based... F this, f that type of talk.
My kids (under 10) didn't really pay attention to the game when I played but I did where headphones (partly because the wife made me).
Bottom line:
If you can get it on sale (if not already bought), I think it was fun and if you can get enough for a lan or find a multiplayer near you populated, it would be worth checking out.
Maybe/Hopefully they will lower the price and turn it into episodes (or more chapters) like Half Life did. The way they ended it was crappy imo.
Hope that wasn't too much.

I have been super addicted to Oblivion too, I stopped playing BF3 because of it! lol.
And Outlaw, thanks for that awesome review. :D exactly what I was looking for.
