I'd like to add that the only reason I'm able to contribute anything is that TGS sent me a free MSI 3870x2. My cpu is pretty pathetic for this but the card does enough to justify running it.

alrighty then. im back online, running my 870 at 4.0, with a big thanks to Cj for hooking me up with this beastly cooler. With any sort of luck i'll have some new pictures up of my LED mod to my evga board, and pics of the new aircooling setup that now resides in blue storm... I'm slightly excited in case you can't tell.
I'm glad you are happy with it!
There are OS issues with different brands of GPU - apparently it's no problem in 7 and (I think) XP but Vista doesn't play nice with odd combo's
So they are not in SLI right? Cuz SLI has to be the exact same card correct?
Yes, SLi needs essentially the same cards.
As long as the OS allows for multiple drivers then you can run whatever you want as long as you have the slots for it. You can't set entirely different cards to work in tandem/sli/crossfire (well not without hydra), but if you aren't trying to do that you can essentially toss whatever into your rig. Right now I've got the GTX280 running my 22" and the living rooms LCD, while a x16 7600GS physically cut down to x1 is running my secondary monitor.
System's are up! Over 70k PPD from the pair.
I have a GPU unit atm which is kicking my GTS450's butt lol - this one unit has dropped the PPD on that card from around 8k to well under 4 ...
Hopefully the next one will be nicer to me heh - 94% done or I'll have killed it and restarted
EDIT: MUCH better - new WU - now working at 9300ppd
I had absolutely no desire to upgrade my rig, but this, this makes my upgrade urge start going crazy.
and my 40k. =/
In that case I would look at the GTX460 for ~$150, or if you want, the GTS450 will bring you to <=~ $100. Oh, and before you ask, I looked into it, and it appears that a single GTX460 will slightly outperform SLI'd GTS450's for gaming. IDK about folding though...I think the dual 450's would top the single 460 in folding though....but I don't really have a lot to base that on besides rumors about the two cards separately. ;) Well, those are the prices in the US, idk what suppliers you have in Congo..
Woot! We're in the 1200s!
Looks like it will be 2 more days till we break 1200.
I finally got my SMP working as it should, so now it's cranking out 1.7-2K PPD. Also my GPU really been liking recent WU's, because it has been getting between 5.7 to over 6K ppd, which is a lot for a 9800GTX
Looks like I picked up another stinker lol - only getting 1967.8 on my GTS250 again grrr
It's so frustrating to be in between places at the moment and have my computer packed up in a box. I might need to pick up a test bed so that I can still have my machine fold over the summer while I finish the case.
BLEH. ~$400-450 after rebates if I want to upgrade to 2500k, P67, DDR3. Another hundred for 2600k for bigadv. Don't want to spend money.
Sent PMs to some members selling stuff on another forum. Could upgrade my p35 to an X48, giving me another pci-e slot and hopefully let me overclock my q6600 higher. That would be about $60. I could then put the 8800GTS 320mb in the rig, which would up ppd by about 4k probably. I don't pay for power here at this apartment, at least not directly.
I think the x48 might be the best bet. Up my PPD, and keep things cheap. Now hope they respond, or try and find another x48. Maybe I should post here and see if anyone has one sitting around.
Another Exciting Milestone!

Now, to 5 Million...And Beyond!
You're welcome *bows*
We should hit 1200 at the next update
About 12 Central, guaranteed.
AAANNNDDDD, we're past 1200.
Waiting for results......
grr. i cant get my smp to pull a new WU again...
Yup - we're there and the individual stats are now working too - having said that, they do NOT get backdated so from the OE site's point of view, we're now all on zero :P
Next update and HOPEFULLY we'll see some numbers - HUGE well done everyone!!!
What site are you guys looking at? The regular Stanford site? TBCS Team 191053
The page doesn't seem to have changed and my score isn't reset. There another page with stats?
theres a TON of info on how to streamline your PPD on the forums there... X_X... i tried switching to BIGADV on my i7, we'll see how it fares compared to smp8.... it defiantly runs a lot cooler.
I get the feeling it'll be 24 hours before individual stats start to register - there's been an update since the update where we broke the 1200 and there's nothing there yet....
Wheeelp... it makes a difference...
Bleh, jealous. I've just got to remember I don't have to have the highest scores. If I start thinking that way I will be dumping money into hardware I don't need.
Individual stats are up, everyone.
Idk why but mine aren't there. It's been running straight so maybe it won't take effect until I restart the client? I'll just check it tomorrow and see what happens. Unless 20 people are pulling more points than me. Odd, because I've pulled up into 17th slot on the stanford website. Ehh, *shrug*.
Before anyone else goes off searching for it...apparently bigadv requires at least 8 'cores' (ie, 4 cores w/ hyperthreading works) to work.. :(
Because of when it was updated, most people have a 24 H average of 36 points. Everything will probably equalize within the next day or so, so you will probably get on the list pretty soon.
Sorry, forgot to mention that guys... the other thing, if you don't have an i7 at at least 3.6 you wont get many points for it. the unit itself it 9000, and takes 3 days to complete, they use bonus points to make these units value grow quickly. for example, i wont get 21k points every day, but every 3 days i'll get 63K for 1 work unit. because the time limit is reached early, so i have a bonus multi of 7x. if you finish the WU earlier, say trace with his 980x with 12 threads at 4.0, he might get an 8x multi on the unit, or a 12, ect. in addition to that he would finish quicker, so his ppd would be significantly higher than mine, even with similar clock speeds.
