Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Heheh, so at some point fairly soon I'll be adding an 8800GTS to my pool. Should be good for another 5-6k. IDK which machine it'll be in though...I should probably figure that out...really, it largely depends on whether my 8800GTX full-coverage waterblock fits it or not.

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
I just noticed, we're only 2 weeks from passing modders-inc's folding team - and they've been going since before 2008....
Anyone noticed any other teams we're gaining on quickly where we actually know/know of the people we're catching?
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
i would enter, but im related to staff. so im gaming instead. it would kill my fps with bigadv, even though it would own.

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
It's official... I'm a moron lol
I've been wondering how the hell my ppd is still hovering around 10k when the i7 system I built for a customer has been on 24/7 for 4 days getting 27k - well it's because I had the damned team number wrong lol - I've been pouring all those points into team 191035 instead of our team - 053
Mystery solved - now just to see how many points I've thrown away when the stanford page comes out of update mode lol
EDIT: Idn if there's even a team on there - but I must have thrown a good 100k at them lol
SECOND EDIT: In light of recent events, I've formally changed my title (look under my post count!!)
THIRD EDIT: 106931 points thrown away lol - well not really - they count towards folding at home overall so that's not a total waste - but TBCS isn't benefitting unfortunately - and yes - I now changed the settings heh - http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/...teamnum=191035

Bah, that's no excuse. :P Just don't run big-adv and stop the clients while you're gaming.

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Here's the thing Cale - IF you AREN'T disqualified, you're wasting time and points lol.
I'm going to speak to the higher-ups about this - several of us have actually met you in person so we can be fairly certain that you aren't a fantasy figure made up by a staff member to get around the no-staff-entry rule. At the same time, you WERE our official Roadie in Vegas so you MIGHT just be staff lol.
I'll speak to CJ and OvRiDe as soon as I get the chance and let you know if you're eligible or not.

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/...teamnum=151093
Also, i didnt even realize i passed the 1000000 mark. lol

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team

And we have our first personal million member, diluzio91!

A huge congrats to diluzio91 for being the first member of the official TBCS folding team to get a total of 1,000,000 points for the team

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
lol... theres about 12 k on another tbcs team... anywho, its just points, no big deal, it still goes towards the same cause, another gongrats to x88x for being the 2nd to hit 1000000

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Heheh, so I was poking around the EOC site, and discovered that we reached another milestone. 94th in 24-hr average!
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Woot, I just saw we broke into the top 1000 teams. Moving on up quickly.
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
trace dropped off last night, whats wrong?
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
wtf... i think this is wrong
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
lol. sometimes you pull a really easy work unit. makes you feel good dosnt it?
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Well strike 20k+ ppd from me lol - delivered the i7 system to the customer tonight - back to 10-12 a day now heh
I love the fact that, to date, I've still never seen ANY team actually threatening to overtake us - that will change once we get up into our rightful place in the standings based on production, but it's sweet when you see "threats" and nothing in there heh
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
I should break 100k points sometime during the night/early morning. Woot!

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
99971 points, lol. The GTX280 will be done with another unit in a few minutes so that should push it over the edge.
Though right now it must be working on a hard unit as its ppd is cut in half. So maybe a couple more minutes on top of that.
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
It's been said before, and I'll say it again - every point, and every workunit counts - so don't think "only" 10 WU's isn't worth celebrating - it's a milestone and they're 10 workunits that F@H needed done so it's definitely all good :D
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
I was talking about folding with a friend yesterday, and he brought up an interesting point. If anyone ever hacks the F@H, BOINC, etc servers, they would have one of the largest, most powerful botnets in existence....and most people probably would never know the difference..

All caps is yelling, not sarcasm. The internet can do anything!..except positively convey sarcasm. I guess everything has to have its Achilles heel.

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Why is it that laptops have a hard time folding? I just got my new laptop with a 555M 3Gb GPU and it only did 1 WU last night...
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Energy saving and low heat output.
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
My folding is heading for an all time low. Not only did I deliver that 2600k system to a client, every WU my Radeon 4870 has picked up in the last 24 hours has failed with an unstable machine error (despite the card NOT overheating or having any problems driving my main display) and every WU the Nvidia GTS250 has tried has sat at 0% - all I'm getting at the moment are a few k per day from my Q6700 CPU
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Actually, it occurs to me that everything went to hell since I installed 7 SP1 - wonder if that's the problem....
-
Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
So my PC is just point-blank refusing to fold on either GPU. The Radeon keeps coming up with an unstable machine error before it even starts - so it definitely isn't an overheating issue. I ran the ATI overclock setup and it managed to overclock my GPU and run tests for nearly 30 mins, and there are ZERO issues with my display so I'm all but certain there's nothing wrong with the card. The nVidia on GPU3 won't start - I've tried with the GPU tracker (sits at 0% forever) and the standalone (tells me its going to sleep) so I'm stumped.
3k ppd for me for the forseeable - I'm not uninstalling SP1 (yet) as that seems to have been the start of all the problems.

Re: Official TBCS Folding Team
Weird. I saw similar problem on my secondary system, but only when a Remote Desktop session was active.
