Yeah I do have a GTX with an alu top, I am well aware of galvanic corrosion. I was looking into replacing the top with the copper version but couldn't find one in Australia and didn't want to order overseas. I should have sprayed the inside of the alu cap with a clear lacquer before filling the loop, slipped my mind lol.
Thanks for the comment Spawn.
:O *faints*... wow
Lol thanks Jeff.
OMG! *Jaw drops*
That looks fantastic. I don't think I could ever wait that long to complete a mod. I'm too impatient. It came out absolutely great. I love it. My mouth is hanging open right now.... Gosh.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
i think that by removing the side fan and back fan grill made this mod just another step up...
and cuz im gunna miss this thing
...
repness...
wow, seriously nice work there :drools:
@ Karbon Killa - Thanks a lot mate. Yeah my patience was fairly strained but I am very happy with the result. The main reason it took so long was poor planning and lack of funds. That and a hectic last year of school.
@ DF - Yeah I like it better without the side fan. I still want to add a stock fan grill to the rear fan, to match the two on the floor of the case. Thanks for the rep.
@ Vitzy - Thanks a lot mate.
I also have some good news. One of my fellow forumers at Bit-Tech thought my mod to be good enough to submit to Million Dollar PC (Thanks John :D). Also Bill Owen asked my permission to feature LEXA on his Mod Blog.
Hopefully this sort of attention will make getting sponsors for new projects easier.
i actually just went to look for it here and its hard to find. ahwell, i'm sure it will be fine.
Yeah it should be ok, I will keep and eye on it though.
I just uploaded my rig to "DigMyPC". Let me know what you think.

finally looked through you worklog, took a couple of hours and that was just mostly looking at the pics lol, absolutely awesome conversion boy 4rm oz :D:up: +rep
Thank you very much Waynio.
Something I forgot to add to this was that about a month ago my motherboard gave out and while dismantling my water loop I also found that my CPU block had started to corrode after only 2.5 months of use. Swiftech were nice enough to send me a new Delrin top to replace my corroded GTX top for free. I have also reverted back to the stock cooling on my NB as it cools better passively than my fan forced Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II cooler, however I have purchased a 60mm fan to attach to the stock cooler while my PC has been in pieces.
I will keep you posted on the mobo situation and will post some more pics once I get everything back together as I have tweaked a few parts of the case I looked over before my final install.
ah... i heard.. that sucks...
Yep it sure does. Has been almost 3 weeks since I sent the board away now. I am going to call the place I got it from during the week to see if they have heard anything from DFI.
rofl... sit back mate took me 2 and a bit months to get mine back
Yeah but you went through I.T Warehouse, major mistake. Plus ASUS tend to service and repair their high end/enthusiast grade products over the mainstream ones. From what I have heard/read DFI have very good customer service so I have full confidence in their abilities.
yea asus + it warehouse = fail
