Great worklog. Great pics.
Thank you Commando, casemoding is a very nice hobby i've start and i'm really loving to do it, but, every coments like this yours, makes me want do ever the best i can.
This was my first time with fiberglass and i learned a lot. I did this form capturing first because it doen't need best results, than, i made use of this moment to learn.
Thank you for your coment !
Today updates (A):
Finelly, some updates with fiberglass works, that i loved to working with:
Did all work over a plastic and used dispendeable materials, making thiks easy to clean up after ;)
More important of all that, the apropriate mask ;)
Touching test done, it's almost dry..
Removing the piece, next time i work with fiberglass i'll use only tape instead using alumin laminate paper 'cause it's very easy to remove:
As this is just for modeling the plexi-glass, i think it's enough, but, to for some detailed work, it is not apropriated. (first time i used fiberglass, what emotion... :D )
Quite enough (just cut the borders to be nice and it's done):
Thank you for beeing here.
Pedro Torres.

I've always wanted to learn how to build with that stuff, I have a subwoofer box built into my trunk with it that was custom made and I really wanted to stick around to see how it was done but had to work. Looks like you figured it out quite well, great job! This project is great reading!!!
I think this is the best think on casemoding, the learning... Glad you learned something with this worklog.
Thanks !

This week i'll buy a thermal blower to print the ET figure on plexi-glass and give a 3d aspect to it.
Thanks !
The next pictures i've worked on photopaint to let it lighter to load... :)
Just cutted the borders:
Cut on front panel where i'll place de little ET.
Getting ready to fix the leds on base hexagons
Seems i'll make some money tomorrow at afternoon to buy the thermal blower i need to do some plexi-glass and other plastics works.
See you later,

Thank you simon275,
Today i learned something else when tried to do a circular depression on foot bases, look:
I did this circular depression on hexagons to the leds lights go directly to the borders, increasing it's ligh efect.
Also, i got the airbrush, wich i'll use to paint the external textures.
Now, i am depending of thermal blower to start huges updates.
Today's some processed pictures (hope get ligther to load it):
S* happens... i've lost one of hexagons because used a wrong Dremel bit and solve this using correct tecnique, watch this:
One ready base to acomplish the leds:
The airbrush (it was the cheaper i've found, but, seems it will work just fine - at least, i've already crossed the fingers)
Thanks folks, i'll do an effort to get the thermal blower tomorrow to start a true job here.
See you,
Pedro Torres.

How do you like the Dremel router? I've been trying to decide whether to get that or the Dremel router table (or a full sized router table). Also, were you using the Dremel saw to cut your plexi?
Again, great work.
Hello javafiend,
I think the router i have is easier to operate. It's easy to change the bits and is not fixed, so you can rotate it, instead rotatind the material you're working on it. (have i made myself clear?)
To cut the plexi i use the saw to do long cuts, because it's fast and do strait cuts. To do short cuts, i use the Dremel cut disk - the thin 409 piece, because it results in less dust, but, produces a toxic smoke, so i have to use a not confortable anti-organic mask.
This router, with the apropriate bit, can do fine works on plexi, wood, and a lot of materials, and you can define the deep of cut, for example, it's really an amazin stuff.
(*Dremel is not paying me to do this comercial :D) - yet !
Thank you for beeing here, hope i could help.
Some picts of a small update from today's work, including, the fabrication of 2 new hexagons that i've to cut again.
Did a finishing job on back side window and other sanding works, nothing relevant work today. Tomorrow will have some significant updates, i hope.. :)
This will result in a better fit of plexi-glass:
See you people,
Pedro Torres.

Thank you Maleficus, i've made a small update on lightning base feet hexagons.
Yor coments are aways very wellcome, thank you !
I got today the light efect i was looking for. To show it better i've to do a small movie of hexagons and leds it in action.
That is a lot of light and is exactly what i want, to give the impression that the case is floating over lights, like a spacecraft...

This material is sold under a rigorous control system at medical / surgery store. I am a lawer and also could buy it.
It's 'till better material to do plexiglass soldering works, as the plexi seller said.
I'll use it carefully, dressing gloves, gas mask and glasses.
Thank's for your advice.
