Nice work!
I had the same idea a while back, but never got around to doing it.
I was gonna make a minimal pc in the smallest enclosure possible to connect to my network and stream media to my tv, something slim and attractive to go with my video machine and dvd player in the cabinet thing under my tv.
The idea i had for sealing it all up was getting some thin sort of brackets to screw together the panels, you could fix all the panels you dont need to remove regularly with brackets on the inside, then for the panels you want removable, have the brackets on the outside, so all you need to do is unscrew and remove!
how about some hinges ? That should allow you to open it instead of gluing it shut.
you could also use "L" brackets. It would probably end up being easier than taping it and would cost maximum of $10 at home depot.
A whole new batch of pics, with the case 95% done!!
Changes since last post:
added front fan
cable sleeving
cleared psu intake
sealed case
installed ubuntu
Note to the suggestion about brackets: I had thought of that, but I think it wouldn't look very good, and I would need brackets, bolts, and nuts, because I can't just screw into the plexi, the threads wouldn't hold. Thanks for the thoughts though.
I kinda like the sleeved 20 pin atx cord, it looks almost like a handle, or possibly a watercooling pipe. Either way, I want it curved like that, not in a straight line, just for those of you that are control freaks with the wires.:p
I'm still waiting for a fan grill to come in, for the front air intake, so I don't lose any fingers.
Any ideas on mouse/keyboard mods to go along with this theme? Right now I just have a generic mouse and keyboard, so I wouldn't mind tearing them apart.
On to the pics:

Angled front view:
Top view (Yes, the case is strong enough to turn on its side)
Bottom view, one you don't see a lot:
The new case fitted nicely inside its old one, one direction:
And the opposite direction:
Looks good. Good job for the tools and materials you had around
huh. I actually really like the taped look, and that is really a solid build with hardly any tools and for less than 30 dollars. Reppity reppity rep.
yeah... its sure nice, but dosnt the cpu get hot? cant se alot of air flow
great use of the space you have, but i would recommend putting a vent over the cpu
(and maybe a couple of light bars in there, would look sweet in the dark)
DONT SEAL IT SHUT!!!
you gotta be able to get back in there later! (i like the hinges idea)
as for keyboard and mouse, you'll be hard pressed to find any clear ones. if you end up putting lights in it, id just colour match them
(P.S. do i notice a simular hardware setup? my stereo mod, link in sig)
cool!, some black tape mightve set off the clear acryl better but its still a sweet idea, gives me some thoughts on a box I wanted to make
