Find out what chipset the sony device uses and I bet you can find a cheap one that uses the same one that'll work with it.
nah....modder's motto is "why even bother trying to get the first thing to work?" ;)
have to admit, I've got an LG bluray player, about a year old, my fiancee and I watch netflix wirelessly on it all the time and love it. the Planet Earth series looks INCREDIBLE in bluray, although Dark Knight weirdly alternates between scenes that fill the whole screen and scenes that don't ... like it's switching aspect ratios on the fly. It's very strange, but I don't own any other blurays so I'm hoping it's just the one.
In addition to some of the Blu-Rays listed (Avatar, Iron Man, Transformers) I would also recommend Prince of Persia and Sherlock Holmes. Both look extremely nice in high-def!
Cars on blu ray is fantastic. :D
BluRay is awesome. Just got my drive for the media center last night and also Transformers 2 from netflix. Took a little bit to set up due to software issues but after that man it looks good. Especially on the new 50" plasma I picked up on black friday.

Dark Knight does this because it puts the scenes filmed in IMAX resolution in there. I read something about it and I'll see if I can find the article again.
I have to get bluray. I'm cheap (aka poor). I'll get around to it one day. My tv isn't big enough or high enough definition-wise to justify buying bluray. I want a bigger/nicer tv anyway, so it would be something I'd buy before getting a new player.
50"!? Wow. I don't ever think I'll need one that big. Although, my 32 inch TV is starting to look small.
