had another idea for a concealed hinge as well if you are interested, is a bit less complex as well... maybe, an L shaped piece of, well a piece of anything strong enough to supporth the top of your case, on a hing would allow it to be set inside the case.
or if it is a computer you may want to have operating whilst open perhaps a toolbox style pair of metal bars on each side?

about the hinge: well I just got a nother wierd idea, and the hole thing may change i just have to make a wood model to test it

heh thats cool, I have kind of stuck the toolbox hinge idea into my own head now and will be playing around with it, altering it seeing if it will go well with my own plans, am still a total modding noob though, but am kind of limited in places to work on it etc.

so does that mean you are picking/have picked your mainboard/video to work with this thing (getting rid of fans) or are modding them (water or heatsinks etc)?

ma' bad! when i said no fans I wanted to say no case fans, I wanted to go the water cooling way but i need sponsor, and i dont think any body would help because its my first big one AND i dont have enought SketchUp skils to make them understand what i want to build:( So i decided to build this one by my self to make a name for my self
So the blower will be the case fan if you can call it,(i may use 2 must check my funds)

You can get some pretty cheap water cooling kits these days. (Ode to the days of using aquarim pumps and tubing) IF you dont want fanless kits Like the Zalman Reserator 1 it retails around the $200 US mark.Clicky. While ones with fans are cheaper.Clicky

depending on the components you pick you could still probably get away with very few fans, most of the good mainboard makers have at least a few boards in low, medium and high price ranges that dont use fans to cool the chipset etc, or if pre-existing parts there are replacements out there depending on the current state of your mainboards warranty and your regard for it.
and if organised correctly you might get away with replacing your cpu fan with the blower (depending on its power I guess, maybe a slightly larger heatsink with something to channel the airflow at the heatsink?).
this is probably my own dislike for fans speaking though, the dust faeries seem to feel great joy visiting fans in my pc over night, which with normal fans is inconvenient, but with the bridge, DPS and video card is a total pain.

FYI those style blower are LOUD! I use them in my 1u servers and they do move air, but you wouldn't want to sit near one (like I do everyday).

I have a similar set of these blowers sitting around in my "future mods" pile. I have powered them up and they are not that loud. I think it will depend on where you mount them and what kind of air baffle you create around them. They only have 2 wires (+ & -) so no sense wire.

P.S. I could be convinced to get rid of them... Just for you GT40
