No, not so much. I modified the front, the bottom (which you can't see) and the radiator on the back. Now i'm working on the buttons on top, and offcourse a window needs to be cut.

I've made a timelapse video today while milling the button panel. But first some pics for the impression:
The new design. Looks much better than those USB connectors etc.
Rough cut. Around it will be 4 buttons for the light effects. Offcourse it will be lightened with some acrylic. Pressing the center part of the power symbol makes the PC turn on or off.
Video time:
With this as a result
I've started with the acrylic parts that will fit beneath the 4 buttons. Those have some "lips" to mount them in the big acrylic thing. With a lot of cutting, filing and sanding i'll make them exactly fit, otherwise they can move sideways when pressing them, don't want that. I want them sturdy, just enough space to move up and down when pressing them.
ive got the same cutter
Ah, that's the hazardous material from your title? ;)
Buttons are done, jeehaaj
After milling and sanding them to the right size i added a layer of metallic silver paint, to prevent seeing through the frosted acrylic.
Switches and wires. Still missing the wires to the led controller, guess i'll add them tonight.
First test, had to use 7 leds to get at a acceptable output, since the gaps between 2 acrylic parts absorb a lot of light. Look how much light is coming through the black plastic from the case. I fixed that with some black tape.
After that i added the square buttons with some double sided tape and put the panel on his final position:
Only +/- 1,5 week left :alien: That means: modding almost every free hour i got left.
Thats a good looking power button you got there. Great work man.
HOLY CRAP. Awesome mate, looks just as if it is meant to be there.
Case is almost done, 3 points left to do:
- Build in my hardware (from my current rig)
- Cutting out the window, engraving the sponsors logo's
- Enjoy :)
Anyway, if i ain't got the time to post some final pictures before moving the case to CeBIT there are some nice shots here:
(1 fan temporary to test)
Imbus bolt to close the reservoir
PCI slots are reachable now :D
Some cables to hide away in the empty HDD brackets.
very nice mod!! love the switch.. +rep :)
You have done fantastic wait, can't wait to see it all done.
Well:
Working on the light configuration etc. now :)
Looks great, the window suits the overall style perfectly.
Wow! Sexy case. Really nice work on the details but also the overal design is cool. +Rep!
Definitely a nice case. I like the colour choices, it works great, and the power switch panel is damn sexy. +rep
I love the "Factory" look it has it's so pro.. love it man +rep
grats ferry!
looking great i cant wait to see this all wrapped up
Thank you very much!
I can't wait to see him as well, he's at the coolermaster office for almost a week (still some things left to mod after the CeBit however) And i'm mising him! (since some programs etc. are on that PC, and not installed on my laptop) Hopefully i can check him out at saturday on the Booth.
you'll be at CeBIT in Hanover? I'll be there as well. You going for the whole week?
No, i will be there for 1 day, saturday or maybe sunday, i prefer the saturday.
Friggen brilliant!
That is all I can say... It's just so good t osee you around and throwing out these beautiful machines!
Looks really very straight and tight. You're a real craftsman!
OK, I saw this case up close and personal yesterday. WOW! Thats all i can say. ferry, this truly is a classy case mod. Looks factory. (I got a picture of myself standing next to it, one of those HI MOM things...LOL)
Damn. I'm stuck all the way over here in Australia lol.
Thanks guys!!!!
Hope to have some time left to touch up the last points.
Long story, but there's OCZ watercooled memory in it now. Without watercooling. ;)
But those barbes are smaller than normal. (8mm instead of my 10mm tubing. So i think i'll keep them air cooled. I'll watercool them in the alien hospital mod.
The new OCZ Flex range has heaps on interchangeable barb sizes to suit any system. I want some.
Jeah, great improvement. But mine hasn't (got them laying around 3/4 a year or so).
Got to find out if 2GB is enough as well, i had 4GB, but this memory is much faster, runs 1066mhz with good timings. I can always order 2GB extra, DDR2 memory is pretty cheap these days. (i can use DDR3 as well on my motherboard, but it's damn expensive)
amazing work as always _ferry_! Is this one finished?
for 99% ;) not really big changes but some cables and fan's should be mounted on a better way. And a final photoshoot after that's done ;) Had no time for it last week, i went on a holiday.
In this photo:
What are the containers in the top right? (The blue ones)
Thanks in advance.
this things nice i like it if only i seen it at the start
@halycon, those are tooless drive locks, just slide your cd drive in the bay and push the button(i believe) and they lock down
It has been a while, but i recently added watercooling to the videocard. It's getting warmer here, and the hot air from the videocard was heating up the chipset Causing instability. The chipset heatsink was 60 degrees Celsius under normal load. (measured with a IR thermometer).
After adding watercooling to the videocard the chipset dropped his temperature by 9 degrees. So it was worth the job.
Here are final pics:
Damn thats sexy man!
I always loved this mod, and I still do.
thats well done mate!
Beautiful work. +rep
ugh. this case is too sexy!!! it actually hurts to look at its soo cool (if thats possible... :S )
Thank you very much guys!!
no.. thank you :P
So good to see _ferry_ still kickin it! Lovely work as usual bro! ;)
