shh, we don't want the burglars to know that! :whistler:
but it's still awesome

I almost used actual human bones on my Great Satan PC, bullets are just another extravagance I live for
They were real bones as part of a "full skeleton" collection for medical students. The private school was going under so they put each arm and each leg and all the rest in appropriate lots and sold them on eBay. I bid for the right arm bones up to $200 where I was finally outbid. Turns out some other group won all of the auctions and thus the whole skeleton
It's actually very hard to find human bones or blood for that matter. Yes, I wanted to use real blood too! In the end I did cut myself (by accident) and then added it to the case. You can say there's a little of me in that mod, literally.
Anyway, back to War Machine. I'm trying to find a clever way of adding the ammo to the case.
I separated four of the 50 cal rounds
I didn't have any primer so I used a flat black instead
Then I painted on the chrome finish
They are going here:
Muejejej... evil mod!! Great so far!!!
The rounds were a little too long so I cut them in half
Then I slid them in. I just need to make them stay for good
Sweeeet.
I put the panel back on
The front and right sides are next
That is looking bad*#s!
Thnx
Really, all I had to do here was add a basic shroud and attach the 50 cal rounds
Next, I want to have the Arc Reactor on the front of the case, so I bought the $6 toy at Walmart
I covered up the top piece with the light and painted it
And here it is all silver
That's when I realize that it looks nothing like the one from the movie. This one has this gay triangle in the middle and lights up yellow? It looks like the easy way won't be good enough.
I'm going to build my own Arc Reactor!
Where are you gonna get the 2g of palladium? ;)
Oh, also, it looks like the toy is from the second movie...idk if the thing with the reactor changing is canon, I feel like there are around 5 different reasons for Stark's health problems between the various movies/TV/comic series.
XD I love when you do things the hard way!
The triangular one is the second, more powerful arc reactor. For War Machine, the second is correct though-because his is a suit truly, and is not attached to his chest.
Some scouting should be able to locate you an NOS one from the first movie. Let me run a search for you, I'll see what I can come up with.

There's some info for you.. Should be helpful.
Sounds like something I should do with my spare time...
I saw a few how-to's, but I can't land the parts they used, so.....
I picked up this super-bright LED magnet light for $5
I then dissected the toy Arc Reactor
And glued it to a $2 Tub Sprout Ring
Then I glued the conjoined pieces to the top of the push light
And there it is!
As you can see it's far brighter than the old yellow one.
Next, I'll add it to the front panel .
Definitely an improvement over the stock toy... and its going to be nice and bright! My buddy is a member of the RPF (Replica Prop Forum) They had a dollar store arc reactor contest that has some pretty cool entries.

Might give you some inspiration if you decide to give it another go.
Wow, those are pretty impressive work, especially for working with just stuff they could find at the Dollar Tree (I'm assuming those were the rules).
Next, I mark and cut out the hole.
I opted for a dremel instead of a hole saw for better control
Here it is mounted to the panel. Luckily, I kept it thin enough so that the door could still close just fine
It's still bright! I just wish I can take a clear photo with the Reactor light still on
Woah that looks awesome! Dang that's bright.
Nice! Now you just need to add random armor bulk all over the place. :D
Still trying to figure that one out.
Next I add some highlights, starting with stripes on the left
Remember my Matrix Mod?
I cut the right panel into several segments
Then, while wearing gloves, I bent it all back
Remember that mask in the beginning?
Then I laid out a coat of flat white spray paint
Then I used model paint for the mask
And then I use Silver too
And that looks great for how little time it took
Now I just have to make it stay there
Ooooh, I like the hole!....in your case...uuhhh...with the..uuhh..face in it..ok, i'm just gonna stop now. >_> <_<
I LOVE YOU!
this is truly awesome! If you ever sell it I may have to buy it off you :)
BTW watch the video for my glove mod, you may notice someone standing to the right guarding my television. Come Iron man 2's dvd release I'm gonna do my best to get a matching war machine for the other side :) :devious:
Thanks!
I added some mesh around the mask to give it more texture
Now, to light up the eyes
that looks really really good! I love the mesh addition.
WOW!!!! When you get that baby lit up it's gonna be bad arse.
Here's the back of the mask
I cut out some thin flexible pieces of plastic from the packaging of an 80mm fan
I then add it to the back of the helmet with some adhesive
And then attach the LED's with some silicon
And then I re-attach the side panel
.

This Mod is finished!

.
Very nicely done. :D
Great work!!! +rep on that finished case!!!
Oh man that is cool.:)
Another great mod, man. Well done.
