Oneslowz hasn't been on at all since he found out he had diabetes. I'm sure he will be around once he's finished with the doctors.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Hey guys,
Sorry for the drawing being postponed. With my recent heath problems I was a bit delayed in verifying all of the entries. So with that said, here is the official list of all who are confirmed and will be in the live drawing held by OvRiDe. If I missed your name you have 24 hours to notify me in this thread and in a PM. Stay tuned for an update on the drawing date from OvRiDe.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
He lives! Thanks for the update Oneslowz28.
FYI to all who entered. You have a 4.54% chance of winning but 1/22 sounds better.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Your health and well-being are far more important than a contest. Please take all the time you need.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Ok guys.. I appreciate your patience with us. Let's see what we can do about getting the drawing put together. First... when is a good time for you guys to watch if we do it live. The BitFenix representative has expressed interest in attending if we do it live, so he can answer any questions from you the consumer.
I know we can't accommodate everyone with the live drawing but I would like to make it so that the majority of members can attend if they want to.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
I know this isn't much help but anytime is fine with me. Does the BitFenix rep have a preferred time?

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Won't matter to me, Whenever you do it just shoot me an email if I win, I'm working a ton of overtime the next 2 weeks.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Well I was hoping to get a little more feedback then 3 people.
So the next step is to coordinate with BitFenix.
I will keep you all posted, and thank you for your patience.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
I'm down for whatever. :p I usually work all weekend and 12-9 pm MST so I won't be able to participate most likely anyway unless you do the drawing at like 11 pm.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
A night time drawing would work for me and any day is fine with me. Sorry for late answer
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
I'll go and like them just to drum up more publicity for them if need be, and I'm not even in the drawing. :) I just like to see people win cool stuff.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
So................. when is this going to happen?
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Lol... I hope I win, but I don't know what I would do with it... Maybe a home server...
Of course by that time i might be building a new pc. lol...
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
good question: When is this actually gonna happen?
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
yeah, i entered, and its been so long i forgot about it..... email the winners. just please draw soon.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
its funny you expect a 24 hour turn around from us but you can go months and months without any feedback. I hope you are well but what do you think will happen when you try and hold a live drawing to gain publicity a year after it was supposed to happen? I mean if you needed a case and some headphones and a mouse....

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Well it just so happens that I have gotten an answer from Bitfenix. This got held up a bit but the previous contest prizes. We have been trying to make sure we get those into the hands of the winners, before we compound the issue with more prizes that need to be delivered. Also Bitfenix is in Taipei, Taiwan and since they are 13 hours ahead of me, it been interesting trying to get this coordinated. BUT FEAR NOT! We have a time and a date!
Right now we are planning on:
This Thursday!
9/22/11 at 9PM CST
We will have a representative from Bitfenix in the chat with us. If all works out it might be live via video as well.
So mark you calendars and warm up your lucky rabbits foot.

Thank you so much for your patience, and I apologize for all the delays.
Thank you to all those that watched live.. I really appreciate you all sticking with me through all the chaos that spawned from me being "prepared" I did have a blast hanging out with you guys!
A big Thank you to BitFenix for there most generous sponsorship of this contest!

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Thank you so much TBCS and BitFenix!
This brings a great happiness to my day. I was about to go buy a new case as I needed one. This just makes my day. I never win anything. Last thing I won was a gatorade contest in 1998 I think it is with the Bulls winning the series 4-2. It was a gatorade bag with like a t-shirt and gatorade mix drink, haha. This so owns that.
Thanks again to both TBCS and BitFenix. This really made my day!
Congrats to the other winners as well.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
The case arrived! It's a semi sad moment though.
I've sent an email back explaining the situation. The case is beautiful, but the near paper thin sheet metal lets the entire case down. The case arrived with dents and creases on both panels. The windowed panel pulled and distorted the rear panel do to being attached by the thumbscrews. The paint is also chipping at nearly every corner.
The case was free, so I can't complain, but it is really disappointing to see a case that could have been a knockout let down by thin metal. Had the case been as thick as something like an Antec 300 instead of something like a Xion it would have been incredible.
I'm sitting here with a sadface. But, I'm appreciative for getting anything. Happy/Sad moment all at the same time. Gently going over it with a ball-peen hammer has at least made it so I can get the case door back on. The metal is so thin and malleable that I made the creases and dents less noticeable.

Have the 2 people that won the cables claimed their prizes?
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Here are some baseline pictures I took when I still thought I was going to use it as the base for my mod. I went out of my way to try and hide the dents, damage, and creases from view in case I did use the case and / or these pictures.
If you meant for the pictures to be of the damage, I have a few of those. It was hard to get pictures of a black case in this crappy lighting. I didn't mean to come off as whining, if that was the way that it did. I am super appreciative to get anything for free. I just wanted them to know my experience, because if that is the way paying customers could receive their cases it might seriously hurt BitFenix's reputation.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Awesome looking case. Sorry to hear about the dents man.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
It's no big deal. I just wanted them to know what happened. The hammer fixed most of it, and for the most part the chipping paint doesn't show up in the pictures, just on my carpet if you move it around, change builds, etc. I just won't be able to use it for the mod I had in mind, as the amount of cutting would make the chassis far too weak, especially the doors.
I might just go back to my roots and scratch build a case like Project: Nightrain. The last two cases I either started working, or drew out the plan to work on have been let down by metal that is just too thin. I might just get some wood and build it from the ground up and toss a motherboard tray in.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Free case = alot of good internal hardware for a scratch build. I just wish I had one I could have chopped up instead of buying a $60 mobo panel.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
True, to an extent. I don't know how the tray would hold up if I took it out of the case. It bends and flexes quite a lot just by pressing a finger against it, and not hard. Putting the stand offs in did the same.
I'm going to use it just as a basic system case.

Yes, I haven't heard if they received their prizes yet. I received PM's from both of them and forwarded them to BitFenix.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Rick, I am sorry to hear about the condition of the case, at first I feared the worst. Luckily it doesn't look too bad. (I had envisioned a car wreck of a case.) In any case I am hoping BitFenix will take care of this or at least take the message to heart and figure out a way to prevent this from happening in the future. I appreciate your graciousness and positive attitude.

It isn't a car wreck, but the side panels took some good hits. I deliberately took angles that didn't show anything for those pictures. Here were a few pictures after I pressed some of what I could out with my hands, but before taking the hammer to it.
It was really hard to get any pictures that showed it off, but it was quite jarring looking at it in person. The windowed panel was twisted and creased in multiple directions. The door wouldn't go back on. The rear panel was pulled outward and twisted as well.
Ultimately, I got it so the door could go back on, and you'd have to try pretty hard to see the damage, though small ball-peen hammer marks are now visible. Every time I move or use it, there are a whole bunch of little black bits all over the carpet, from the corners of the paint. I'm just one of those people though, were if I had purchased this case it would be entirely unacceptable. If I purchase something new it needs to be in new condition. But, being free, I can definitely overlook some flaws.
I have cheaper cases of sturdier construction and build quality. I don't believe this case would keep its shape with the amount of cutting I had in mind for it. It's a great case if you treat it as a premod, complete your build, and just leave it somewhere. It wouldn't do well being carried/moved constantly to lans, nor would it do well to any substantial modding to its physical structure without some kind of substantial reinforcement. If you de-riveted this case, you would be hard pressed to get it to keep its shape to put it back together again.
But a beautiful case though, and I will cherish it.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
That's really too bad. I mean, I know free stuff is free stuff, but companies should focus on either thicker sheet metal, or shaped/pressed thinner metal that reinforces itself.
I'm also happy to see that (from the pictures at least) it doesn't look as bad as I imagined, but if tolerances are high then small imperfections can really screw up a case.
-
Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
I was imagining a case that looked like it was chucked out a window or down a long flight of stairs.

Re: Win a Shinobi Window and other prizes from BitFenix and TBCS.
Hey all, i have not recieved the cables yet. I will let u know when/ if i get them.
