I love this worklog, and every time I read it I always think, "Well, why do you think he never types anything? His keyboard is in a hundred different pieces!"
I am so, so intrigued by this project. I love the idea of using photos to narrate the story, rather than filling it with eighteen paragraphs of bragging.
Those look so awsome, but i think that they would be a bit heavy, they might stay down all the time! eek..
This is extremely impressive work Filimon!
Thank you very much to everyone who say a few words about my project. The semicircular cuttings are specially done to make the buttons lighter. I have to stop worklog for sometime because I need to prepare about 100 buttons.
But if you are interested in my other mods I’ll be glad to show you some of them which are made earlier.
I would love to see other mods of your when you have a chance to post. I am sure others would as well. You do very good work.
Excellent work! I have to admit, this is very interesting! I'm sure this is going to go with the mouse. You will deffinetly win the award for heaviest keyboard!!!
Wouldn't want to drag it to a LAN party! One things for certain though, you clearly know exactly what you're doing.

Those keys do look bad ass, just an idea, but if you cut the letters out and projected some colors behind the letters with some surface mount LED's, it would look bad even more badass
have you looked into using a reinforcing spring behind the key itself to help support some of the weight? Finding just the right gauge and resistance might be tricky, but it could solve a lot of potential problems with weight and key return down the road.
This is the reason why you have 2 rep boxes with your 11 posts. Amazing work dude.
wow this is madness
casting a key in metal... wow
how??
i like how we are all speculating what he does.
what does the book lite have to do w/ anything??
you will have to see the booklight turn into a magic item!!!!!
I know how i would be with that keyboard to be.
GAH, MORE FINGERPRINTS!!!!
I've always wanted a keyboard with aluminium keys. (Stupid Firefox thinks i should spell it without the i.) Closest i can get is an aluminium frame. I'm still trying to get a decent keyboard and mouse combination to replace the one i currently have...but that's another tale for another thread. :)Quote:

I have to agree with everyone else here...this is a great worklog...no explanation, no words...just pictures. Those keyboard keys look ****ing fantastic too...can't wait for the next update! :)
This is really raising the bar.....
awesome work, if it ends up half as sweet as your mouse it'll still kick a LOT of ass!
Sweeeet !
so, where are you going to add the little red ruby's to match the mouse???
It would be sweet if you could find a way to make the lettering and numbers on the keyboard out of the red ruby's. Talk about bling bling!
The stainless buttons are growing on such “bushes”. :D
 I get it!
do you cast using sand, with the lost wax technique?
like dave said before... i have also wanted to cast aluminum. any tips for smelting@home?
Haha, godly, Microsoft could use these to add to some "Vista Platinum" booth.
It's like HR Giger decided to mod a keyboard.
This has got to be one of the most oddest things I've seen. Even odder than the real mouse mouse that was posted in the chatterbox.
+rep, and a /subscribe. This is very odd, original, and intriguing.
Keep up the good work, as you obviously know what you are doing!
I had to use this keyboard instead of the previous one because of some technical causers. I use the metal buttons as I make them.
This is going to look godly.

I can't wait to see what you have planned for the outer framework!
that's sexy ass hell, and great work!
but I'd be scared to type on it haha. I'd put that baby in a frame along with the mouse
How heavy are the keys roughly? Do keys stick, or it is harder to type at all?
I wish I had some of the tools/workplaces that some of you guys have!
Fun fact, the Tarantula Keyboard's buttons don't work the way normal buttons do, they're specially shaped underneath because of all the wiring...
if its stainless it will stay like that for a 100 years lol
great stuff, good thing i'm subscribed :D
+rep mate
Wowza.
Everything about this mod is art.
the log, the actuall mod.
/claps!
Man this is crazy. It will look great when it is finished. But it really needs a stainless mouse beneath it.
You mean like the one he already made?
Shame on me, how could i miss that. Okay won't say anything about it from now on, the whole thing is just damn great.
the only thing id be worried about is keepin that baby clean, and the CRAZY reflections that thing is going to cause, but based on you setup, that may not be a problem.
The mans a hero.
Whats next? The mouse, the keyboard.... gonna strip a TFT and re-do it in stainless?
And for the full set, the scratch built stainless case... this could be revolutionary.
Talk about raising the bar....
this is damn good...
GZ man, GZ...
+rep...

This over_fckn_whellming shi+ mean.
I wonder how to mod my keyboard.
This is the way thath will be.
