hehe, i thought the same of my EVGA mobo and here is what i found... even if they use good stuff they won't use the best stuff so it might drop temps 1 or 2 degrees. but it looks like in your case its fine the way it is.

Jeez thats scary lol
Here's my cooling chart and it does seem to work well. Only possible refinement is to stick one case fan on the processor heatsink and duct the cold air to it. At the moment it is running the fan constantly at full power and I am unsure if thats in BIOS or because of how I have placed it but that won't take long to solve.
I found the glass top
I found the glass top
my friend john who came and helped with some of the woodworking has given me a round glass tabletop big enough to cut for the top. :)

Guys - Luke, Froop, chev, Ryoken - everyone thanks for all the wishes - the force is strong in this community and in me - I feel bouyed up by everyone.
Last week was one of ups and downs - I am deeply touched by your messages and send a big thanks to you all.
I feel this week will be the turning point in a four year battle against medical negligence and cover up and you guys have helped me find the resolve to keep my head high and rise up.
Matthew
ps That and the fact that I will see Deskpooter Finished :D
I dealt with something a little similar, I got put on antidepressants and all when my problem(s) is(/are) a hormonal one. It took them until I was 15 to figure it out. Hope all that gets said and done with soon...
Must.... keep.... modding....
:D
hey man hows everything with you and deskpooter and luck with the top?
I hope something good happens for you with this hospital problem soon. Good luck man!
Sorry for not being on skype, I recently did a reformat and forgot that you use skype the majority of the time. So i guess you added me on msn and then signed off? o.o
Hopefully you can find something to do to pass the time while your stuck in that place =/
maybe take up whittling?
crazyness! +Rep!
Hey man hows it going in there??
BAD: After three years of negligence and my body falling apart this place has taken the piss and left me in worse health. Now they are trying to kick me out with no understanding of what is wrong (by their own admission) and no plan for how to turn things around. It's a sham, a cover-up and a whitewash. It makes medicine in the UK look the shameful bunch of crap it is at its worst. http://freedomforall.net/ for details.
But thanks for asking bro. It's good to know that people care. :)
I wonder how much it would cost to fly over here and get healthcare... or if insurance would cover it even... hmm...
Hey man come to canada lol our healthcare is free lol you just have to become a canadian citizen and no I wont marrie you lol ..... well......
You didn't but it's cool. I like driving tractors. People with land have tractors (i.e. farm machinery I believe you guys called what we call lorries tractors???). Other
wise the land has no interest for me.
I dumped a Lebanese billionairess after a few dates because I saw that her wealth was clouding my judgement. I didn't know when I started dating her how incredibly rich she was (Daddy owns half of Beirut and much more besides). Some dickhead told me at a party and it ruined it for me. When I explained why she said "but it's me who dumps men because of their interest in my money" - with quite a look of shock on her face. I was told a year later by mutual friends she still hadn't gotten over it.
:)
Heh heh... Best. Response. Ever.
That kind of sucks, but at least you're more intelligent than most. Sucks how she hasn't gotten over it yet... hmm...
I like your location btw.
WOOOO
Smoked Glass top ordered .... having not been put off by the first estimates I was given which all exceeded £75/$150 I shopped on the phone all day and eventually found a glass shop that quoted £35/$70.
So I went and I ordered and I paid for .... and deskpooter will have her glass top by the weekend. Pictures will be forthcoming.
:)
Can't wait to see it!
Just back from the glass shop as the writing on the glass says ...
:)
ps no one mention the words "cable management".
looking really nice man
I Agree looks really good! Cables need managed. . but other than that Great Job!
If you got some nice edging that would really finish it off
Haven't looked in this thread in a while, but kickass work dude. I like it.
Thx guys.
Now I am discovering ... having spent £35 on the glass ..I'm looking at another £35 for the hinges!!! Thats nearly $150 on the top. Damn. Yet she looks good and it's only getting better.
Aside from getting the finishes I want, there be a plan to install a Slave HTPC/media server in there next. Slaves! She wants slaves. I can't get my X2 4200 to beat an Intel chip but I can put more computers in that case. I'm contemplating how much storage I would need for the rest of my life and reckon 5TB should do it. What dya think?
:)
ps :( I said no one mention ....
that looks really slick, aside from the wood haha, but i like the combo.
you need some wiring neatness in place though :) i never mentioned those words as said :)
+rep for it!
If i were you I'd build a timber top for the desk with a rebate in to take the glass. Not only would it look fantastic but it would be a lot easier to hinge if you really need it.
If you don't get what I'm on about let me know and I'll do a quick sketch :)
Thanks for all the support guys :)
Calum you clever man ... I'm planning something almost along those lines. I am building a mitred frame to create a fixed width wooden base on which the glass will rest and be hinged. Also looking for some kind of electronic activator arm to open the lid and some of the glass is going to be fake sandblasted with that stick on plastic stuff to hide the ugly parts. Plus I have realised I want the inside of the drawer and all the grey metal painted black so things are really, nearly, invisible til the lights come on.
:)
Dammit and I thought I was a step ahead of you!!!!
