Heh. In this house (like most in the Philippines) they don't use an earth. My computer is earthed via the UPS, and I have a spare power lead for other equipment. I also have one for my laser printer, which isn't on the UPS and is connected to an ungrounded outlet.
One day, I was working on a computer and I put my ear to the drive to hear if it was spinning.
Guess which power lead it was running off...

I wouldn't feel too bad if you don't know. They are used in hospitals or doctors offices. Basically they go under a patient in, let say a hospital bed, to absorbe any bodily fluids that may be released.. whether it be from a surgical procedure or otherwise.Quote:
